Plumbing Services We Provide in Round Rock

Plumbing Repairs

From leaking faucets and running toilets to broken supply lines and burst pipes, our plumbers handle repairs of all sizes throughout Round Rock. We diagnose the root cause rather than just patching symptoms, so the fix actually holds. Older homes in Round Rock's established neighborhoods can see accelerated wear on fixtures and connections, and we know what to look for.

Drain Cleaning

Slow or clogged drains are one of the most common plumbing calls we get in Round Rock, especially in homes with older cast iron or galvanized drain lines that have been collecting buildup for decades. We use professional-grade equipment to clear blockages completely, not just punch a hole through them. Regular drain cleaning is one of the easiest ways to protect your plumbing system long term.

Water Heaters

Whether your water heater is limping along or has completely given out, we help Round Rock homeowners get reliable hot water back fast. We service, repair, and replace all major brands and tank sizes, and we'll walk you through your options so you can make the right call for your household and your budget. Round Rock's hard water is tough on water heater tanks, and we see the effects regularly.

Tankless Water Heater Installation

Tankless water heaters are a popular upgrade for Round Rock homeowners looking to save energy and free up space in the garage or utility closet. We install tankless systems for both gas and electric setups, size the unit correctly for your home's demand, and make sure everything is up to code. If you're replacing an aging tank unit, now is a great time to consider making the switch.

Leak Detection

Hidden leaks can quietly drive up your water bill and cause serious structural damage long before you spot any visible signs. Our plumbers use advanced leak detection technology to pinpoint the source without unnecessary digging or destruction. In Round Rock's mix of slab and pier-and-beam homes, knowing exactly where a leak is before we start work saves time and money.

Learn More

Slab Leak Detection

Slab leaks are a real concern in Round Rock, where many homes built in the 1980s and 1990s have copper supply lines running beneath concrete foundations that have had decades to corrode and shift. We use non-invasive detection methods to find slab leaks accurately before recommending a repair approach. Catching a slab leak early can be the difference between a manageable repair and a major foundation issue.

Learn More

Whole House Repiping

Homes built in Round Rock during the 1980s and early 1990s often have original polybutylene or galvanized steel pipes that are well past their reliable service life. When repairs become frequent and water quality starts to suffer, a full repipe is often the most cost-effective long-term solution. We repipe homes efficiently with minimal disruption and use modern materials built to last.

Learn More

Sewer Line Replacement

Older sewer lines in Round Rock's established neighborhoods can develop root intrusion, bellying, and joint separation over time. When cleaning and spot repairs stop holding, a full sewer line replacement gives you a fresh start with a system that won't keep demanding attention. We assess the condition of your line thoroughly before recommending replacement so you know exactly what you're dealing with.

Learn More

Water Softeners

Round Rock sits squarely in Central Texas hard water territory, and the effects show up everywhere from your water heater and fixtures to your skin and laundry. A properly sized and installed water softener protects your plumbing investment and makes a noticeable difference in daily life. We help Round Rock homeowners choose the right system and install it to perform reliably for years.

Cold is on the Right offers emergency plumbing service to Round Rock homeowners when things go wrong at the worst possible time. We respond quickly, communicate clearly when we're on the way, and get to work immediately on stopping the damage.

We Know Round Rock Homes

Round Rock's housing stock covers a wide range, from 1980s brick ranches in neighborhoods like Brushy Creek and Turtle Creek to mid-2000s two-stories and brand-new builds on the city's expanding edges. That range matters when it comes to plumbing because each era brings its own quirks. Homes from the 1980s and early 1990s can have polybutylene supply lines or galvanized drain pipes that have been quietly degrading for thirty-plus years, while newer construction sometimes comes with its own installation shortcuts that only show up after a few years of use.

We also know that Round Rock sits in some of the hardest water territory in Central Texas, and that takes a steady toll on water heaters, fixtures, and appliances across the board regardless of home age. Our plumbers have worked in neighborhoods throughout this city for years and bring that firsthand familiarity to every job. We're not guessing about what's likely going on inside your walls; we've seen it before a few streets over.

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a plumber cost in Round Rock, TX?
Plumbing costs in Round Rock vary depending on the type and complexity of the job. A basic service call with a minor repair might run $150 to $300, while larger projects like water heater replacement or whole-house repiping can range from $1,000 to $5,000 or more. We always provide upfront pricing before any work begins so you know what to expect. Getting a clear estimate before approving work is the best way to avoid surprises.
Why is my water pressure low throughout my Round Rock home?
Low water pressure throughout a home is often caused by a failing pressure regulator, significant mineral buildup inside older pipes, or a supply line issue. In Round Rock, where hard water is common, scale accumulation inside galvanized or older copper pipes is a frequent culprit, especially in homes built in the 1980s and 1990s. It can also indicate a hidden leak somewhere in the system that's diverting flow. A plumber can test your pressure, inspect the regulator, and run diagnostics to identify the root cause.
Do I have polybutylene pipes in my Round Rock home?
If your home was built between roughly 1978 and 1995, there is a reasonable chance it has polybutylene supply pipes, which were widely used during that period and are now known to fail over time. Polybutylene is typically gray in color and may be visible near the water meter, under sinks, or in utility areas. A licensed plumber can inspect your home and confirm whether poly pipe is present. If it is, repiping with modern materials is usually the safest long-term path.
How do I know if I have a slab leak in my Round Rock house?
Common signs of a slab leak include warm or damp spots on the floor, the sound of running water when all fixtures are off, unexplained spikes in your water bill, and cracks forming in flooring or baseboards. Round Rock has a significant number of older homes with copper pipes beneath concrete slabs, and those pipes are susceptible to corrosion and shifting over time. A professional leak detection service using electronic and acoustic tools can locate the leak precisely without destructive digging. Catching a slab leak early matters because the longer it goes unaddressed, the more foundation damage can accumulate.
Is hard water really a problem for plumbing in Round Rock?
Yes, hard water is one of the most consistent plumbing issues we see throughout the Round Rock area. Central Texas water is loaded with calcium and magnesium, which builds up inside pipes, water heaters, and appliances over time. Inside a water heater tank, that mineral sediment insulates the water from the heating element and forces the unit to work harder, shortening its lifespan noticeably. A whole-house water softener is the most effective solution, and it protects your entire plumbing investment while also improving water quality for bathing, laundry, and dishes.
How long does a water heater last in Round Rock, and when should I replace mine?
A standard tank water heater typically lasts 8 to 12 years under normal conditions, but Round Rock's hard water can shorten that range if the unit hasn't been regularly flushed and maintained. Signs it's time to consider replacement include inconsistent hot water, rumbling or popping sounds during heating cycles, visible rust around the tank or in your hot water, and a unit that's more than 10 years old. Tankless water heaters tend to last longer, often 15 to 20 years, and are worth considering when you're due for a replacement. Getting ahead of a failing water heater before it fails completely saves you from an emergency situation and gives you time to choose the right replacement.
