Sewer Line Replacement Services We Provide in Round Rock

Full Sewer Line Replacement

When a sewer line is too far gone for repair, full replacement is the right move. We replace the entire line from your home to the city connection using durable modern pipe materials built to last decades. This is the most common solution for Round Rock homes with original clay or cast iron lines from the 1980s and early 1990s.

Trenchless Sewer Line Replacement

Trenchless methods like pipe bursting and pipe lining let us replace or rehabilitate your sewer line with minimal digging. This is a great option for Round Rock homeowners with mature landscaping, concrete driveways, or fencing they want to protect. We'll assess whether your line and soil conditions are a good fit before recommending this approach.

Learn More

Sewer Camera Inspection

Before any replacement work starts, we run a high-resolution camera through your sewer line to see exactly what's causing the problem. Whether it's root intrusion, a collapsed section, severe corrosion, or a bellied pipe, the camera tells us the full story. Round Rock homeowners appreciate having this documented evidence before approving any work.

Root Intrusion Removal and Prevention

Tree roots are one of the most common causes of sewer line damage in established Round Rock neighborhoods, where mature oaks and cedars have had decades to spread. We remove root intrusions and can replace the damaged section of pipe to prevent the problem from recurring. If roots have caused widespread damage, full line replacement may be the most cost-effective long-term fix.

Collapsed or Crushed Sewer Line Repair

Soil shifting, heavy vehicle traffic, and the natural settling of older properties can crush or collapse sewer lines over time. Once a line collapses, it cannot be cleaned or repaired in place and must be replaced. We handle collapsed line replacements regularly throughout Round Rock and can work quickly to restore service to your home.

Learn More

Drain Cleaning and Hydrojetting

Not every sewer issue requires full replacement. Sometimes a thorough hydrojetting service can clear years of buildup and restore full flow. We'll use camera inspection to determine whether cleaning is a viable solution before recommending it, so you don't spend money on a temporary fix when replacement is actually needed.

Emergency Sewer Line Service

Sewage backups don't wait for business hours, and neither do we. If you're dealing with a backup, foul odors, or soggy ground over your sewer line, call us for emergency service. We respond quickly throughout Round Rock and surrounding areas to diagnose and resolve the problem before it causes additional damage to your home.

Learn More

Sewer Line Repair for Partial Damage

When only a section of your sewer line is damaged, targeted repair or spot lining can save you the cost of full replacement. We use camera inspection to locate the exact problem area and determine whether a partial repair is a legitimate long-term solution for your specific line condition. We'll always be honest with you about whether repair or replacement makes more sense.

Whole House Repiping

If your home has aging supply and drain lines throughout, repiping may address problems that go beyond just the sewer line. Many Round Rock homes from the late 1980s and 1990s have galvanized steel or polybutylene pipes that are well past their service life. Repiping gives you a fresh start with modern, reliable materials throughout the entire system.

We Know Round Rock Homes

Round Rock has one of the most varied housing stocks of any suburb in the Austin metro. You've got established neighborhoods near downtown Round Rock and Old Settlers Park where homes were built in the 1980s with clay or cast iron sewer lines that are now 35 to 40 years old, sitting alongside fast-growing subdivisions off Gattis School Road, Chandler Road, and Forest Creek where builders put up hundreds of homes quickly in the late 1990s and 2000s. That mix means we see a wide range of pipe materials, installation quality, and failure patterns on any given week. Knowing which neighborhoods have which issues lets us come prepared and give you an honest assessment from the start.

The soils in Round Rock also play a role. The expansive clay soils common throughout much of Williamson County shift with the wet and dry cycles Texas is known for, and that ground movement puts stress on buried pipes over time. Tree roots from live oaks, pecans, and other established trees in older subdivisions are relentless at finding cracks and joints in aging lines. We factor all of this into how we approach every job, and it's why Round Rock homeowners who do their research tend to call Cold is on the Right at (512) 271-2172.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does sewer line replacement cost in Round Rock?
The cost of sewer line replacement in Round Rock typically ranges from $4,000 to $12,000 or more depending on the length of the line, the pipe material being used, the depth of the existing line, and whether trenchless methods are an option. Homes in older Round Rock neighborhoods with longer runs to the city main, or with lines buried deep due to soil conditions, tend to be on the higher end. Trenchless pipe bursting can sometimes reduce costs by eliminating extensive excavation, but not every line or property is a good candidate. The best way to get an accurate number is to have a camera inspection done first so we know exactly what we're working with.
How long does sewer line replacement take in Round Rock?
Most residential sewer line replacements in Round Rock are completed in one to two days for a standard open-cut excavation. Trenchless replacements can sometimes be done in a single day depending on the length of the line and site conditions. Factors that can extend the timeline include unusually deep lines, difficult soil conditions, proximity to other utilities, or unexpected complications uncovered during excavation. We give you a realistic timeline before work begins and keep you updated throughout the process so there are no surprises.
How do I know if I need sewer line replacement or just a cleaning?
The only reliable way to tell is with a sewer camera inspection. Cleaning can resolve blockages caused by grease buildup or minor root intrusion, but it won't fix a collapsed pipe, a severely corroded line, or a bellied section where the pipe has settled and waste pools instead of flowing. Many Round Rock homes with original 1980s or early 1990s sewer lines have underlying structural problems that cleaning temporarily masks but never truly fixes. If you've had multiple backups or cleanings in the past few years, that's a strong signal that the line itself needs attention.
What is trenchless sewer line replacement and is it available in Round Rock?
Trenchless sewer line replacement includes two main methods: pipe bursting, which pulls a new pipe through the old one while fracturing it outward, and pipe lining, which installs a resin-coated liner inside the existing pipe that hardens into a new pipe. Both methods require far less digging than traditional open-cut replacement, which makes them attractive for Round Rock homeowners with mature landscaping, concrete work, or fencing over the line. Not every sewer line is a candidate for trenchless methods though. Lines that are already completely collapsed or severely off-grade may still require open excavation. We assess each situation individually before making a recommendation.
Does sewer line replacement require a permit in Round Rock?
Yes, sewer line replacement in Round Rock typically requires a permit from the City of Round Rock, and the work must be inspected by the city before backfilling. Licensed plumbers handle the permit process as part of the job, so you don't have to navigate that yourself. Working without a permit is a risk you don't want to take because it can create issues when you go to sell your home and the work shows up undocumented. All sewer line replacement work we do is permitted and inspected through the proper channels.
My Round Rock home was built in the late 1980s. Should I be worried about my sewer line?
Homes built in Round Rock in the late 1980s frequently have clay tile or cast iron sewer lines that are now approaching or past 40 years of service life. Clay tile joints can crack and separate over time, and tree roots love finding those joints. Cast iron corrodes from the inside out, which is why you might not see signs of trouble until the line is already significantly deteriorated. The expansive clay soils common in Williamson County also create more ground movement than many homeowners realize, which accelerates joint separation and pipe stress over the years. A camera inspection is a smart preventive step for any home of that age, especially if you've never had one done.
