About Our Sewer Services in Round Rock

Round Rock's rapid growth over the past four decades means the city's housing stock spans a wide range of ages, and so do its sewer systems. Homes built in the 1980s and early 1990s in neighborhoods like Brushy Creek and Forest Creek may have clay or early PVC sewer lines that have seen decades of root intrusion, shifting soil, and wear. Meanwhile, newer subdivisions on the city's expanding edges sometimes have installation quirks or systems that weren't built to handle how quickly the surrounding area filled in. Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air brings the expertise to handle both ends of that spectrum and everything in between.

We use camera inspection technology to see exactly what's happening inside your sewer line before recommending any work. That means no guessing, no upselling, and no surprises on the bill. Round Rock residents are sharp consumers who want straight answers — we built our entire approach around that. Whether you're dealing with a slow drain in a 1990s ranch-style home or a sewage backup in a new construction townhouse near the Domain corridor, our team shows up prepared, explains the situation honestly, and gets it resolved the right way.

Sewer Services We Provide in Round Rock

Sewer Line Repair

A cracked or collapsed sewer line can cause raw sewage to back up into your home or leak beneath your yard. We use camera diagnostics to pinpoint the exact location and extent of the damage, then perform targeted repairs that restore flow without unnecessary excavation. In Round Rock, where many homes sit on expansive clay soils that shift with rainfall and drought cycles, sewer line damage is more common than most homeowners expect.

Sewer Line Replacement

When repair isn't enough — whether due to pipe age, repeated failures, or widespread root intrusion — a full sewer line replacement is the smarter long-term investment. We replace old clay, cast iron, or deteriorating PVC lines with durable modern materials built to last for decades. Round Rock homes from the 1980s and early 1990s are reaching the age where replacement is often the most cost-effective path forward.

Drain Cleaning

Slow drains are often the first sign of a developing sewer problem, not just a minor annoyance. Our team uses professional-grade equipment to clear blockages throughout your drain system, from kitchen sink buildup to main line obstructions. Staying ahead of drain problems is especially important in Round Rock's older established neighborhoods, where decades of buildup inside pipes can gradually choke flow until a full backup occurs.

Learn More

Sewer Camera Inspection

Before recommending any repair or replacement, we run a high-definition camera through your sewer line to see exactly what's going on inside. This eliminates guesswork and ensures you're only paying for the work that's actually needed. It's also one of the best tools for Round Rock homebuyers who want to know the condition of a sewer system before closing on an older property.

Hydro Jetting

Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to blast through grease buildup, mineral scale, and stubborn blockages that standard drain snaking can't fully address. It's particularly effective in Round Rock homes where hard water mineral deposits accumulate inside pipes over time, gradually narrowing the line. Unlike chemical drain cleaners, hydro jetting is safe for your pipes and produces a thorough, lasting clean.

Root Intrusion Removal

Tree and shrub roots are relentless, and in Round Rock's established neighborhoods with mature landscaping, root intrusion into sewer lines is one of the most frequent causes of backups and damage. We remove root systems from inside your pipes and repair any structural damage they caused. We can also recommend long-term strategies to keep roots from making their way back into your line.

Trenchless Sewer Repair

When a full excavation would mean tearing up your landscaping, driveway, or concrete, trenchless methods offer a less disruptive alternative. We use pipe lining and pipe bursting techniques to repair or replace damaged sewer lines with minimal surface impact. This is often the preferred option in Round Rock neighborhoods where mature trees, fencing, or finished hardscaping makes traditional digging impractical.

Emergency Sewer Services

Sewer backups don't wait for business hours, and neither do we. If you're dealing with sewage coming up through floor drains, toilets backing up throughout your home, or a suspected sewer line collapse, call us right away. Our emergency team serves Round Rock and the surrounding area and responds quickly to protect your home from further damage and health hazards.

Leak Detection

Sewer leaks don't always announce themselves. Sometimes the first signs are unexplained wet spots in the yard, a persistent sewer odor with no obvious source, or unusually high water bills. Our leak detection services use advanced tools to locate hidden sewer and plumbing leaks without unnecessary digging or damage to your home. Early detection saves Round Rock homeowners significant money and prevents structural damage from going unnoticed.

Sewer Line Maintenance

Preventive maintenance is the most affordable sewer service you can invest in. Scheduling periodic camera inspections and drain cleaning keeps small issues from turning into major failures and extends the life of your sewer system. For Round Rock homeowners in older subdivisions, a regular maintenance plan provides peace of mind and early warning before a problem becomes a costly emergency.

Whole House Repiping

When a home's plumbing system has reached the end of its usable life — whether due to pipe age, recurring leaks, or corroded materials — a whole house repipe addresses the problem at its source rather than chasing individual failures. Several Round Rock neighborhoods built in the 1980s are now seeing widespread pipe degradation that makes repiping the most practical long-term solution for homeowners planning to stay in their homes.

We Know Round Rock Homes

Round Rock grew fast, and that growth happened in waves. The older neighborhoods west of I-35, near downtown and along Brushy Creek, have homes pushing 35 to 40 years old. Those houses were built during a period when clay pipe and early-generation PVC were standard, and today those materials are showing their age. The clay soils common throughout Williamson County expand and contract significantly with the wet and dry cycles central Texas experiences, and that ground movement puts consistent stress on underground sewer and drain lines over time.

The newer subdivisions on the eastern and northern edges of Round Rock present a different set of concerns. Fast-tracked construction during high-growth periods sometimes results in sewer lines that weren't perfectly installed, or systems that are already handling more load than originally anticipated as surrounding development filled in. We've worked throughout Round Rock long enough to recognize the patterns, and that familiarity means we spend less time guessing and more time solving the actual problem in front of us.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I need sewer line repair or a full replacement?
The answer usually comes down to the extent and location of the damage. A localized crack, offset joint, or section of root intrusion can often be repaired without replacing the entire line. But if a camera inspection reveals widespread deterioration, multiple failure points, or a pipe material that has simply reached the end of its lifespan, replacement is typically the more cost-effective decision over time. For homes in Round Rock built in the 1980s or early 1990s, the pipes are at the age where full replacement is increasingly common. We always show you the camera footage and explain our recommendation before you decide anything.
What does a sewer camera inspection cost in Round Rock?
Sewer camera inspections in the Round Rock area typically run between $150 and $350 depending on the length of the line, accessibility, and what the inspection includes. It's one of the best investments a homeowner can make before buying an older home or before committing to any significant plumbing work. The inspection tells you exactly what you're dealing with so there are no surprises mid-job. We provide upfront pricing before we begin, so you'll know the cost before we run the camera.
How long does a sewer line replacement take?
Most residential sewer line replacements in Round Rock take one to two days from start to finish, though more complex jobs involving deep lines, large yards, or difficult access points can take longer. Trenchless methods can sometimes reduce the overall time compared to traditional open-cut excavation. We give you a realistic timeline estimate during the diagnosis phase so you can plan accordingly. In most cases, your plumbing is fully functional again by the end of the job.
Can tree roots really damage my sewer line?
Yes, and it's one of the most common sewer problems we see in Round Rock's older established neighborhoods. Tree and shrub roots naturally seek out water sources, and even a small crack or loose joint in a sewer line is enough for roots to find their way in. Once inside, they grow and expand, eventually causing blockages, pipe deformation, or full collapses. Clay pipes, which were standard in homes built before the mid-1990s, are especially vulnerable because their joints are more prone to separating over time. Regular camera inspections help catch root intrusion early before it turns into a major repair.
What's the difference between drain cleaning and hydro jetting?
Standard drain cleaning typically involves a mechanical snake or auger that breaks through or removes a blockage. It's effective for most clogs and is a fast, affordable solution for routine drain issues. Hydro jetting uses highly pressurized water to scour the interior walls of the pipe, removing grease buildup, mineral scale, and debris that a snake can't fully clear. In Round Rock, where hard water mineral deposits are a real factor, hydro jetting often produces a more thorough and longer-lasting clean. We recommend the right method based on what the camera inspection shows us, not just a default approach.
Is sewage backup covered by homeowners insurance?
Standard homeowners insurance policies generally do not cover sewage backup or sewer line damage unless you have a specific sewer backup rider or endorsement added to your policy. Coverage for damage inside the home caused by a backup — such as flooring or drywall — depends on your policy terms. Sewer line repairs or replacements are typically considered a maintenance issue and fall outside standard coverage. It's worth reviewing your policy and calling your insurance agent if you're unsure what you have. Regardless of what insurance covers, we provide upfront pricing so you know exactly what the repair will cost before work begins.
