About Our Plumbing Repair Services in Round Rock

Round Rock is one of the fastest-growing suburbs in Texas, and that growth means homes at every stage of the aging process. Older homes from the 1980s and 1990s are reaching the point where original supply lines, drain connections, and water heater systems start showing wear. Newer homes have their own quirks, including builder-grade fixtures and connections that weren't always installed with longevity in mind. Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air understands both ends of that spectrum and brings the same careful, licensed workmanship to every job regardless of home age.

We know Round Rock homeowners don't just call the first number they find. You compare options, read reviews, and want to understand what you're paying for before anyone touches a pipe. That's exactly why we lead with honest diagnostics, clear explanations, and pricing you see before we start work. No pressure, no surprises — just reliable plumbing repairs from a team that treats your home like it's their own.

Plumbing Repairs We Provide in Round Rock

Emergency Plumbing

Burst pipes, sudden backups, and plumbing failures don't wait for business hours — and neither do we. Round Rock's rapid growth means more homes and more demand on aging infrastructure, so when something goes wrong fast, you need a team that responds just as fast. We're available for emergency plumbing calls across Round Rock and the surrounding area.

Drain Cleaning

Slow or completely blocked drains are one of the most common plumbing complaints we hear from Round Rock homeowners, especially in homes where original cast iron or PVC drain lines have been collecting buildup for decades. We use professional-grade equipment to clear clogs fully rather than just pushing them further down the line. Kitchen sinks, bathroom drains, and main sewer lines are all part of what we handle.

Learn More

Leak Detection

A leak you can't see can do a lot of damage before you notice it on your water bill. In Round Rock homes — particularly those built in the 1980s and 1990s — older supply lines and connection points are common sources of hidden leaks. We use specialized detection equipment to pinpoint leaks without tearing into walls unnecessarily, saving you time and repair costs.

Learn More

Slab Leak Detection

Slab leaks are a serious concern in Central Texas, where clay-heavy soils shift with seasonal moisture changes and put stress on under-slab plumbing. Round Rock homes built on concrete slabs — which is most of them — are susceptible to this kind of leak, and they're easy to miss until water damage becomes visible. We locate slab leaks with precision and walk you through your repair options clearly.

Learn More

Whole House Repiping

Homes from the 1980s and early 1990s in Round Rock were often built with polybutylene or galvanized steel pipes, both of which have a well-documented history of failure as they age. If you're experiencing frequent leaks, persistent low pressure, or discolored water, it may be time to consider repiping the entire system rather than chasing individual repairs. We handle full repipe projects with minimal disruption to your home and daily routine.

Learn More

Sewer Line Replacement

Sewer lines in older Round Rock neighborhoods can suffer from root intrusion, joint separation, and corrosion — especially in areas where large trees have had decades to grow alongside aging clay or cast iron sewer lines. If you're dealing with recurring backups, foul odors near your yard, or unusually lush patches of grass, your sewer line may be failing. We inspect, diagnose, and replace sewer lines with durable modern materials that are built to last.

Learn More

Garbage Disposal Services

A malfunctioning garbage disposal is a daily inconvenience in any kitchen, and Round Rock households with hard water from the local water supply see accelerated wear on disposal components over time. Whether your unit is jammed, leaking from the base, or just not grinding the way it used to, we can repair or replace it quickly and make sure the drain connection underneath is solid while we're at it.

Learn More

Gas Line Installation

Many Round Rock homeowners are upgrading appliances or adding outdoor kitchens and fire features, which often requires new or extended gas line work. Gas line installation is not a DIY project — it requires licensed work and proper permitting to keep your home and family safe. Our technicians handle gas line installation for ranges, dryers, water heaters, and outdoor appliances throughout Round Rock.

Learn More

Water Heater Repair

Whether you have a traditional tank water heater that's struggling to keep up with a busy household or a tankless unit that's throwing error codes, we diagnose and repair water heater issues fast. Round Rock's hard water supply is notoriously tough on water heater tanks — mineral sediment builds up over time and reduces efficiency dramatically. Regular maintenance and timely repairs extend the life of your system and keep hot water flowing reliably.

Learn More

Toilet Repair

A running toilet can waste thousands of gallons of water per month, and a loose or leaking toilet base is a recipe for floor damage if it's ignored. We repair flappers, fill valves, wax ring seals, and cracked tanks — whatever is causing the problem — and make sure your toilet is working efficiently before we leave. In homes with older bathrooms, a toilet repair visit is also a good opportunity to check the supply line and shutoff valve condition.

Faucet and Fixture Repair

Dripping faucets and failing fixtures are often dismissed as minor issues, but a single dripping faucet can waste hundreds of gallons per year and signal larger problems with supply pressure or internal valve wear. We repair and replace kitchen faucets, bathroom fixtures, outdoor hose bibs, and shutoff valves throughout Round Rock homes. If you're updating fixtures as part of a renovation, we can handle the installation correctly and make sure supply connections are up to code.

We Know Round Rock Homes

Round Rock's housing stock stretches across four decades of construction, and that range matters when you're diagnosing plumbing problems. Homes built in the 1980s along the older sections of town often have original supply lines, galvanized fittings, and drain systems that have never been touched since they were installed. Homes built in the 2000s and 2010s in neighborhoods like Teravista or Stone Canyon tend to have PEX supply lines and builder-grade fixtures that hold up reasonably well but aren't immune to early failure, especially when the local water supply works against them.

Round Rock's water is notoriously hard, with high mineral content that accelerates corrosion and sediment buildup in water heaters, fixtures, and supply valves. Clay soils in the area also shift during dry spells, putting pressure on under-slab and underground plumbing that most homeowners don't think about until something fails. We've worked on homes all across this city, and that experience means we're not guessing when we diagnose a problem — we know what to look for and where to look for it.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a typical plumbing repair cost in Round Rock?
Plumbing repair costs in Round Rock vary quite a bit depending on the type and complexity of the problem. A straightforward faucet repair or toilet rebuild might run between $150 and $300, while a more involved job like a slab leak repair or sewer line section replacement can range from $1,000 to several thousand dollars. We always provide upfront pricing after diagnosing the issue, so you know the full cost before we start. Getting a proper diagnosis first is important because what looks like a simple clog or drip can sometimes point to a larger underlying issue.
Does Round Rock's hard water really affect my plumbing that much?
Yes, it genuinely does. Round Rock's municipal water supply has high mineral content, and over time that hardness causes calcium and magnesium deposits to build up inside pipes, fixtures, and especially water heater tanks. You'll often notice it as reduced water flow from faucets, shorter water heater lifespan, or white chalky buildup around fixture heads. Water heaters in hard water areas like Round Rock can lose efficiency significantly within five to seven years without regular flushing. A whole-house water softener can help slow the process, but the effects of hard water are already present in most existing plumbing systems.
My water bill went up but I don't see any visible leaks — what should I do?
An unexplained spike in your water bill is one of the clearest signs of a hidden leak, and in Round Rock homes it's often either a slab leak or a slow leak in a supply line inside a wall. These leaks can go undetected for months because the water absorbs into concrete or insulation before it becomes visible. Start by checking your meter with all water turned off — if the dial is still moving, you have a leak somewhere in the system. A licensed plumber with leak detection equipment can pinpoint the location without unnecessary demolition. Catching it early almost always means a less expensive repair.
How do I know if my older Round Rock home needs repiping or just repairs?
Homes built in Round Rock during the 1980s and early 1990s often have polybutylene or galvanized steel pipes, both of which have a documented history of failure as they age. Signs that your system may need repiping rather than ongoing spot repairs include frequent leaks in multiple locations, consistently low water pressure throughout the house, discolored or metallic-tasting water, and a plumber who keeps finding new problem spots every year or two. If the cost of recurring repairs is adding up and the underlying pipe material is the issue, repiping the whole house is often the more economical long-term solution. A plumber can assess your existing pipe material and give you an honest comparison of repair versus replacement costs.
What counts as a plumbing emergency and do you really offer after-hours service?
A plumbing emergency is anything that poses an immediate risk to your home, your safety, or your ability to use basic utilities. That includes burst or actively leaking pipes, sewage backing up into your home, a complete loss of water supply, a gas line concern near plumbing, or a water heater that's leaking significantly. Yes, we do offer emergency plumbing service for Round Rock homeowners — give us a call when something urgent comes up and we'll get someone dispatched. Acting quickly on true emergencies almost always reduces the total cost of damage and repair.
How long does a typical plumbing repair appointment take in Round Rock?
Most standard plumbing repairs — a toilet rebuild, a faucet replacement, a drain clearing, or a minor pipe repair — are completed within one to two hours once our plumber is on site. More complex jobs like slab leak repairs, sewer line work, or water heater replacements typically take a half day to a full day depending on access and the extent of the work. We'll give you a realistic time estimate after the diagnosis so you can plan accordingly. We also aim to give you a specific arrival window rather than a vague range, because we know your time matters.
