About Our Whole House Repiping in Spicewood

Spicewood homes face a set of plumbing challenges that don't get enough attention from contractors who rarely venture this far west. Well water is particularly hard on pipes — mineral buildup, sediment, and fluctuating pressure can accelerate corrosion and wear in ways that municipal water systems just don't. Older homes on large acreage parcels often have long pipe runs that were installed decades ago with materials that have long since passed their useful life. When those pipes start showing their age, patchwork repairs rarely hold out here.

At Cold is on the Right, we approach every repiping job in Spicewood by understanding what the home is actually working with. That means evaluating your well system's interaction with your pipes, accounting for the long distances water may travel through your home, and selecting materials that stand up to Hill Country conditions. We give you upfront pricing before any work begins, and we don't leave until the job is finished correctly. When you're this far out, you can't afford a crew that cuts corners.

Repiping Services We Provide in Spicewood

Full Home Repiping

We replace every supply line in your home from end to end using durable PEX or copper piping built to last. For Spicewood homes on well water, this often means addressing mineral-laden pipe interiors that have been quietly narrowing your water flow for years. A full repipe restores pressure, eliminates rust, and gives your plumbing system a clean start.

PEX Repiping

PEX is flexible, freeze-resistant, and handles the mineral content common in Hill Country well water better than older materials. It's a practical choice for Spicewood homes with long pipe runs across large floor plans or through tight crawl spaces in slab-built properties. We size and route PEX correctly so pressure stays consistent at every fixture.

Copper Repiping

Copper remains one of the most reliable long-term materials available, and many Spicewood homeowners prefer it for its proven track record and resale value. We install copper pipe with precision fittings that hold tight even under the pressure variations that well pumps can create. It's a solid investment for a home you plan to keep for years.

Galvanized Pipe Replacement

Many older Spicewood properties still have galvanized steel pipes that have been corroding from the inside for decades. Galvanized pipe that's been carrying well water accelerates that process — rust flakes, buildup, and reduced flow are common complaints. We remove the old galvanized lines entirely and replace them with modern materials that won't continue to degrade.

Learn More

Partial Repiping

Not every situation calls for a full repipe — sometimes a specific wing of a home or a set of problem lines needs to be replaced first. We assess which sections are failing and offer targeted partial repiping that addresses the most urgent issues without unnecessary scope. It's a practical option for Spicewood homeowners managing larger projects in stages.

Learn More

Leak Detection Before Repiping

Before committing to a full repipe, it helps to know exactly where leaks exist and how widespread the damage is. Our leak detection process gives you a clear picture of what's failing inside your walls or under your slab so we can recommend the right scope of work. On large Spicewood properties, that information is especially valuable before we start opening up walls.

Learn More

Slab Leak Detection and Repair

Slab leaks on Spicewood properties can go unnoticed longer than in denser neighborhoods — there's simply more going on and the signs aren't always obvious. We use non-invasive detection methods to locate leaks beneath the slab before determining whether targeted repair or a full repipe is the better solution. Catching slab leaks early protects your foundation and keeps repair costs manageable.

Water Heater Replacement After Repiping

A full repipe is often the right moment to evaluate your water heater, especially on well water systems where sediment buildup shortens equipment life significantly. We coordinate water heater replacement alongside repiping work so everything gets done in one visit rather than two. Starting fresh with clean lines and a properly sized heater makes a noticeable difference in daily performance.

Emergency Repiping Services

A burst pipe or catastrophic line failure on an acreage property in Spicewood is not a wait-until-Monday situation. We offer emergency service for repiping-related failures so you're not left managing water damage while waiting on a contractor who doesn't prioritize this area. When something goes wrong out here, we show up.

Learn More

Well Water Line Assessment

When your home runs on a private well, the pipe system between your pressure tank and your fixtures carries a unique set of demands. We assess the condition of lines serving well-fed homes and identify where mineral scale, corrosion, or age-related wear is limiting performance. This is a step that most contractors skip but that makes a real difference in repiping outcomes for Spicewood properties.

Learn More

Post-Repipe Plumbing Repairs

After a repipe, some homes need follow-up work — fixture reconnections, valve replacements, or cleanup of water damage that was hidden behind old pipes. We handle the full scope so you're not left coordinating multiple contractors after the main work is done. One crew, one project, finished correctly before we leave.

  • Rust-colored or cloudy water coming from faucets, especially common in homes on well water with older iron or galvanized lines
  • Noticeably low water pressure throughout the house, not just at one fixture
  • Repeated leaks in different locations — a pattern that signals systemic pipe failure rather than isolated problems
  • A sulfur or metallic taste or smell in your water that has gotten worse over time
  • Visible corrosion or green staining on exposed pipe fittings under sinks or near the pressure tank
  • Unexplained increases in water usage or pressure tank cycling that points to hidden leaks in your supply lines
  • A home built before the 1990s that has never had its original pipes replaced

We Know Spicewood Homes

Spicewood is a mix of longtime Hill Country homesteads, custom-built acreage homes from the 1980s and 90s, and newer construction that's filled in as the area has grown. The older homes out here were often built with galvanized supply lines and minimal access points, and they've been running on well water ever since. That combination accelerates pipe wear in ways that aren't always visible until something finally gives out — and when it does, you're a long way from the nearest hardware store.

We've worked on enough Spicewood properties to understand what that means in practice. Long pipe runs, pressure tanks that need to be factored into the repiping design, and crawl spaces or walls that haven't been touched in thirty years are all part of the job out here. We come prepared, we account for the specifics of your property before we quote anything, and we don't send someone who's going to be surprised by what they find. That kind of preparation is what makes the difference when you're trusting a contractor to handle something this important on a property this far out.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!
