About Our Plumbing Repairs in Spicewood

Out here in Spicewood, plumbing isn't as simple as calling the nearest big-city service company and hoping for the best. Properties on well water have unique pressure and filtration considerations. Homes on septic systems require care and knowledge that goes beyond standard drain work. When something goes wrong on a five-acre lot west of Austin, you need a contractor who respects the distance, respects the property, and respects your time.

Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air serves Spicewood and the surrounding Hill Country communities with licensed plumbers who are equipped for acreage properties. We handle everything from leaking pipes and pressure problems to water heater failures and full repipes — with upfront pricing and no surprises. When you're this far from town, you can't afford a contractor who cuts corners or doesn't show up. We don't operate that way.

Plumbing Repairs We Provide in Spicewood

Emergency Plumbing

A burst pipe or sudden plumbing failure on an acreage property can cause serious damage before help arrives — which is why fast response matters even more out here. Our team makes the drive to Spicewood for true plumbing emergencies, ready to stop the damage and restore your system. We don't leave rural homeowners waiting.

Leak Detection

Leaks on large properties can hide for a long time before they show up as a spike in your water bill or a soft patch in your yard. We use specialized detection equipment to find leaks without tearing up your land unnecessarily. Getting ahead of a leak out here is especially important when your water source is a private well.

Learn More

Slab Leak Detection

Many Spicewood homes are built on concrete slabs, and when a pipe fails beneath that foundation it can go unnoticed until real structural damage sets in. Our licensed plumbers use non-invasive tools to pinpoint slab leaks accurately so repairs are targeted and efficient. Catching a slab leak early protects both your foundation and your water supply.

Learn More

Drain Cleaning

Well water high in minerals and sediment can accelerate buildup inside drain lines over time, and septic-connected homes need drains flowing freely to avoid system overload. We clear stubborn clogs and flush drain lines so everything moves the way it should. Regular drain maintenance out here is worth the investment.

Learn More

Whole House Repiping

Older Spicewood homes and cabins that have been around since before the area filled in often have aging galvanized or polybutylene pipes that are well past their service life. Hard well water accelerates corrosion, and once pipes start failing in one spot, they usually start failing in others. A full repipe gives you clean, reliable water flow throughout your home and long-term peace of mind.

Learn More

Sewer Line Replacement

Homes connected to municipal sewer in parts of Spicewood can face root intrusion and line deterioration, while properties with aging septic connections face their own set of challenges. We inspect, diagnose, and replace damaged sewer lines using methods designed to minimize disruption to your landscape and property. Getting this right matters — a failed sewer line on a rural lot is not something to defer.

Learn More

Water Heater Repair

Well water with high mineral content is hard on water heaters, causing sediment buildup that shortens unit life and reduces efficiency faster than city-treated water would. When your water heater starts making noise, losing temperature, or failing altogether, we diagnose and repair it quickly. We work on both tank and tankless units common in Hill Country homes.

Garbage Disposal Services

A jammed or failing garbage disposal might seem minor, but it can back up your sink and create headaches especially if your kitchen drain ties into a septic system. We repair and replace disposals and make sure the installation is compatible with how your plumbing and septic are set up. Small fix, but we do it right.

Gas Line Installation

Propane is the fuel of choice for many Spicewood homes that sit beyond the reach of natural gas infrastructure, and those gas line systems require the same careful installation and inspection as any other. We handle gas line work for appliances, generators, outdoor kitchens, and whole-home systems. Our licensed plumbers ensure every connection is safe, code-compliant, and built for the long haul.

Well Water System Repairs

Pressure tank failures, pump issues, and pressure switch problems are a fact of life for Spicewood homeowners on private wells. When your water pressure drops or you lose water entirely, we troubleshoot the problem and get your system running again. Knowing how to work with well systems is something most plumbers lack — our team knows the difference.

Toilet and Fixture Repairs

Running toilets, leaking supply lines, and worn-out fixtures waste water and quietly increase costs — and on a well system, they can also run your pump harder than it should be. We repair or replace toilets, faucets, and fixtures throughout your home efficiently and without unnecessary upselling. If it uses water, we can fix it.

We Know Spicewood Homes

Spicewood is a mix of longtime Hill Country homesteads, lake-access retreats, and newer custom builds on larger lots, and the plumbing in each type tells a different story. Older properties often have galvanized pipes that have been fighting hard well water for decades, while newer builds sometimes cut corners during the construction boom that can show up a few years in. The limestone terrain also means shifting soil conditions that put stress on underground lines in ways that don't affect homes in flatter, urban neighborhoods.

When you're on a private well and septic system miles from the nearest hardware store, a plumbing failure isn't just an inconvenience — it's a real disruption to daily life. Our technicians have worked on properties throughout this stretch of the Hill Country and know what to look for before it becomes a bigger problem. That familiarity means faster diagnosis, smarter repairs, and fewer callbacks out to your property.

High Fives from Spicewood Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work on homes with well water and septic systems in Spicewood?
Yes, and it's something we do regularly throughout the Spicewood area. Well water systems have unique pressure dynamics and the mineral content in Hill Country groundwater affects pipes, fixtures, and water heaters differently than municipal water does. We know how to work within those systems without disrupting your well pump, pressure tank, or septic setup. If you're not sure whether your issue is plumbing or well-related, we can help sort that out during the diagnostic visit.
How quickly can you get out to Spicewood for a plumbing repair?
For standard repairs, we typically schedule within one to two business days depending on current availability. For genuine plumbing emergencies — burst pipes, complete loss of water, or active flooding — we prioritize getting a plumber out to you as fast as possible. We know Spicewood isn't around the corner, so we come prepared with the parts and tools most likely needed for your type of repair so we don't have to make multiple trips.
What does a plumbing repair usually cost out in Spicewood?
Costs vary quite a bit depending on what needs to be fixed. A straightforward faucet or toilet repair might run a few hundred dollars, while a slab leak repair, sewer line issue, or full repipe can run into the thousands. We always provide upfront pricing after our diagnostic so you know the full cost before we start. There are no hidden fees or surprise charges added after the work is done. We also offer financing for larger jobs if that would be helpful.
Hard water from our well has been hard on our pipes. How do I know if they need to be replaced?
High-mineral well water accelerates corrosion and scale buildup inside pipes, particularly older galvanized steel lines. Warning signs include discolored or rust-tinged water, reduced water pressure throughout the house, frequent small leaks at joints or fittings, and a metallic taste to your tap water. If your home has galvanized pipes that are 30 or more years old and you're on well water, it's worth having a licensed plumber take a look. In many cases a whole-house repipe is more cost-effective than repeatedly patching aging lines.
Can a plumbing problem affect my septic system?
Absolutely, and this is something Spicewood homeowners on septic need to take seriously. A running toilet, a slow drip, or a cracked supply line adds excess water volume to your septic system over time, which can saturate the drain field and cause it to fail prematurely. Similarly, a backed-up drain inside the house often signals that the septic system or the line connecting to it needs attention. Catching plumbing issues early is one of the best ways to protect your septic investment.
Do you offer a warranty on your plumbing repairs?
Yes. Our plumbing repairs are backed by a warranty on both labor and materials so you have confidence in the work long after we leave your property. If something related to a repair we completed isn't performing correctly, give us a call and we'll make it right. We stand behind what we do because our reputation in this community matters more to us than a quick job.
