About Our Drain Services in Round Rock

Round Rock has grown fast, and that growth means a wide range of home ages and plumbing systems across the city. Older homes near downtown Round Rock often have decades-old drain lines that have never been professionally cleaned, while newer subdivisions in areas like Teravista or Walsh Ranch can develop issues from builder-grade materials and rapid soil settling. At Cold is on the Right, we don't just snake a drain and call it done. We diagnose the root cause, explain what we find in plain language, and give you a clear price before any work begins.

Our licensed plumbers use professional-grade equipment including hydro jetting and camera inspection to make sure we're solving the actual problem, not just pushing it further down the line. Whether you're a longtime Round Rock resident dealing with aging cast iron pipes or a newer homeowner noticing early signs of buildup, we're the team that treats your home with the same care we'd give our own. We're proud to serve Round Rock and the surrounding communities with the kind of straightforward, reliable service this city deserves.

Drain Services We Provide in Round Rock

Drain Cleaning

Over time, grease, hair, soap buildup, and mineral deposits from Round Rock's hard water combine to slow or completely block your drain lines. Our professional drain cleaning uses hydro jetting and snaking to fully clear the line, not just punch a temporary hole through the clog. We restore proper flow and help prevent recurring buildup so you're not calling us back for the same problem in three months.

Kitchen Drain Cleaning

Kitchen drains in Round Rock homes take a beating from cooking grease, food scraps, and hard water scale that coats pipe walls over time. We clear kitchen drain lines thoroughly using the right method for the severity of the clog, whether that's a snake for a surface blockage or hydro jetting for heavy grease accumulation. Routine kitchen drain cleaning also protects older galvanized or cast iron lines common in homes built in the 1980s and 1990s.

Bathroom Drain Cleaning

Hair, soap scum, and toothpaste residue are the usual suspects behind slow bathroom sinks and shower drains in Round Rock homes. Left alone, these partial clogs become complete blockages that back up into tubs or overflow onto floors. Our plumbers clear bathroom drain lines quickly and inspect the trap and drain connection to make sure nothing else is contributing to the slowdown.

Toilet Clog Removal

A clogged toilet is one of the most disruptive plumbing problems a household can face, especially in busy Round Rock families with multiple people sharing a bathroom. When a plunger isn't cutting it, there's often a deeper obstruction in the drain line or a partial sewer line issue at play. Our plumbers get to the actual source of the clog and fix it properly so the problem doesn't keep coming back.

Sewer Line Services

Round Rock's mix of mature trees in older neighborhoods and expansive clay soils creates real risk for sewer line damage from root intrusion and ground movement. A sewer line problem affects every drain in your home at once, and it only gets worse the longer it goes unaddressed. We inspect, diagnose, and repair sewer lines using advanced camera technology so you know exactly what's happening underground before any work begins.

Learn More

Sewer Line Replacement

Older Round Rock homes built in the 1980s and early 1990s sometimes have original sewer lines that have reached the end of their useful life, whether from age, root damage, or corrosion. When repairs aren't enough, a full sewer line replacement restores proper drainage and protects your home from recurring backups and potential sewage issues. We walk you through your options clearly and provide honest recommendations based on the actual condition of your line.

Learn More

Hydro Jetting

Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scour the interior walls of drain and sewer lines, removing grease, mineral scale, and debris that standard snaking leaves behind. It's especially effective for Round Rock homes where hard water has caused significant buildup inside pipes over the years. We recommend hydro jetting for homes with recurring clogs or lines that haven't been professionally cleaned in several years.

Learn More

Drain Camera Inspection

Before recommending any repair, we want to see exactly what's going on inside your drain lines. Our camera inspection technology lets us identify cracks, root intrusion, buildup, or collapsed sections in real time without digging up your yard. For Round Rock homeowners considering a home purchase or dealing with mysterious recurring backups, a camera inspection gives you the facts you need to make an informed decision.

Drain Repair

Not every drain problem is just a clog. Cracked pipes, separated joints, and corroded drain lines require actual repair work, not just a cleaning. In Round Rock homes where original drain piping may be 30 to 40 years old, these issues are more common than most homeowners expect. We identify the damaged section, explain the repair options, and fix it correctly the first time.

Emergency Drain Services

Sewage backups and completely blocked drains don't hold off until business hours, and a slow response can mean water damage and serious health hazards in your home. Cold is on the Right offers emergency drain services for Round Rock homeowners who need help now, not tomorrow. Call us when the situation can't wait and we'll get a licensed plumber to you fast.

Recurring Clog Diagnosis

If you're calling a plumber for the same drain every few months, the real problem hasn't been solved yet. Recurring clogs in Round Rock homes often point to a deeper issue like a partially collapsed line, a belly in the pipe, or significant root intrusion that surface cleaning can't fix. We dig into the underlying cause so you can stop throwing money at temporary solutions and actually resolve the problem.

We Know Round Rock Homes

Round Rock has been one of the fastest-growing cities in the country for good reason, but that growth means plumbers here have to be comfortable working on everything from 1980s tract homes with original cast iron drain lines to brand-new construction where settling soil and builder-grade PVC are the main concerns. Older homes in neighborhoods near downtown or off Sam Bass Road often have drain systems that have never been professionally serviced, and hard water from the area's limestone-heavy groundwater makes scale buildup a real and recurring problem inside those pipes.

Newer subdivisions in Round Rock come with their own set of quirks. Fast-track construction schedules and high demand sometimes mean plumbing that wasn't installed with long-term performance in mind, and we've seen enough of it to know what to look for. Whether your home was built during the Reagan administration or broke ground last year, our team brings the kind of local familiarity that lets us diagnose problems faster and give you advice that's actually relevant to your situation, not generic guidance that could apply anywhere.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does drain cleaning typically cost in Round Rock?
Drain cleaning costs in Round Rock generally range from around $150 to $400 for a standard clog, depending on the location of the drain, the severity of the blockage, and the method required to clear it. A simple bathroom drain snake is on the lower end, while hydro jetting a grease-packed kitchen line or a partially blocked sewer line costs more. Hard water is common throughout the Round Rock area, and mineral buildup inside pipes can make clogs harder to clear and may require more aggressive methods. We provide upfront pricing before any work begins so you know exactly what to expect.
What's the difference between snaking a drain and hydro jetting?
Snaking uses a flexible cable to break through or pull out a blockage, which works well for most standard clogs like hair in a bathroom drain or a soft grease clog in a kitchen line. Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scour the entire interior of the pipe, removing buildup from the walls rather than just creating a hole through the clog. For Round Rock homes with hard water scale or years of grease accumulation, hydro jetting provides a more thorough clean and reduces how quickly the problem returns. We'll recommend the right approach based on what we actually find during our inspection.
How do I know if I have a sewer line problem versus just a single clogged drain?
A single clogged drain usually affects only one fixture, so if just your bathroom sink is slow, it's likely a localized clog. When multiple drains in your home are slow or backing up at the same time, or if flushing a toilet causes water to appear in a tub or sink elsewhere in the house, that points to a main sewer line issue. Gurgling sounds from floor drains and recurring backups even after cleaning are also strong indicators. In older Round Rock neighborhoods where original sewer lines from the 1980s are still in service, root intrusion and pipe deterioration are common culprits worth investigating with a camera inspection.
Does Round Rock's hard water really affect drain performance?
Yes, it does. Round Rock sits on top of the Edwards Aquifer and draws from groundwater sources with high mineral content, which means the water running through your pipes is relatively hard. Over time, calcium and magnesium deposits build up on the interior walls of drain and supply lines, narrowing the passage and creating rough surfaces where grease and debris cling more easily. This makes clogs more likely and more stubborn to clear compared to homes in softer water areas. Homeowners in Round Rock tend to see recurring drain issues at a higher rate for this reason, and professional hydro jetting every few years can help keep lines clear.
Can tree roots really get into drain lines in a suburban neighborhood like Round Rock?
Absolutely. Tree roots seek out moisture and can find their way into even small cracks or joint gaps in older sewer lines, and Round Rock has a lot of mature trees in its established neighborhoods. Once roots get inside a line, they grow quickly and can cause partial or complete blockages and eventually collapse the pipe if left alone. This is one of the most common causes of recurring sewer backups in homes built in the 1980s and 1990s throughout Round Rock. A camera inspection is the best way to confirm root intrusion and determine how extensive it is before deciding on a repair approach.
How long does a typical drain service appointment take in Round Rock?
Most standard drain cleaning appointments take between one and two hours from arrival to completion. A simple clog in a single bathroom drain is often resolved in under an hour, while a more involved job like hydro jetting a kitchen line or diagnosing a sewer issue with camera inspection can take two to three hours. If we find a problem that requires repair work beyond the cleaning itself, we'll explain the scope and timeline before proceeding. We do our best to give you an accurate estimate when you schedule so you can plan your day accordingly.
