About Our Plumbing Services in Leander

Leander is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, and with all that growth comes a wave of homeowners navigating their plumbing systems for the very first time. At Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air, we take that responsibility seriously. We walk every homeowner through what we find, why it matters, and what your options are, so you're never left guessing about your own home. From new construction warranty issues to first-time water heater replacements, our licensed plumbers handle the full scope of residential plumbing with transparency and care.

We also understand that Leander's rapid development means plumbing quality can vary widely from subdivision to subdivision. Some new builds come with minor installation oversights that only show up after move-in. Others have hard water issues that quietly wear down fixtures and appliances over time. Our team has seen it all across Leander's newest neighborhoods, and we bring that hands-on familiarity to every service call. Upfront pricing, no hidden fees, and a crew that respects your home and your time.

Plumbing Services We Provide in Leander

Plumbing Repairs

From dripping faucets to broken supply lines, our licensed plumbers diagnose and repair plumbing problems quickly and correctly. Leander's new construction homes sometimes have installation issues that surface within the first few years, and we know exactly what to look for. We fix it right the first time so you're not calling twice.

Drain Cleaning

Slow or clogged drains are one of the most common calls we get from Leander homeowners, especially in homes with young kids and heavy daily use. We use professional-grade equipment to clear blockages completely rather than just pushing the problem further down the line. Regular drain cleaning also helps prevent the backups that can cause real damage to your floors and walls.

Learn More

Water Heaters

Whether your water heater stopped working or you're ready to upgrade, we help Leander homeowners choose and install the right unit for their household size and budget. New construction homes often come with builder-grade water heaters that may not be sized correctly for a growing family. We'll assess what you have and recommend the best path forward.

Learn More

Tankless Water Heater Installation

Tankless water heaters are a smart upgrade for busy Leander households that run out of hot water during back-to-back showers and laundry loads. We handle the full installation, including any necessary gas line or electrical modifications, and walk you through how to get the most out of your new system. Energy savings and endless hot water make this one of the most popular upgrades we install in newer Leander homes.

Learn More

Leak Detection

Hidden leaks can go unnoticed for months, quietly driving up your water bill and causing damage inside walls and under slabs. We use advanced leak detection equipment to pinpoint exactly where a leak is occurring without tearing up your home unnecessarily. In Leander's newer subdivisions, even brand-new pipes can develop leaks from shifting soil or improper installation.

Learn More

Slab Leak Detection

Central Texas soil shifts with rainfall and drought cycles, and that movement can stress the pipes running beneath your foundation. Slab leaks are particularly damaging because they often go undetected until there's visible damage to flooring or unusually high water bills. Our team uses non-invasive detection methods to locate slab leaks accurately before recommending any repair approach.

Learn More

Water Softeners

Leander sits in an area known for very hard water, and it takes a real toll on plumbing fixtures, appliances, and water heaters over time. A properly sized water softener protects your investment and makes a noticeable difference in everything from shower pressure to how long your dishwasher lasts. We install and service water softeners sized specifically for your home and household usage.

Learn More

Water Filters

Many Leander homeowners want cleaner, better-tasting water for their families, especially with young kids in the house. We install whole-home and under-sink filtration systems that reduce contaminants and improve water quality throughout your home. We'll help you understand what's in your water and what level of filtration makes the most sense for your needs.

Learn More

Sewer Line Replacement

While many Leander homes are newer, sewer lines can still fail due to ground movement, root intrusion, or construction defects. A damaged sewer line affects every drain in your home and can become a serious health hazard if not addressed quickly. We assess sewer line condition with camera inspections and provide honest recommendations on repair versus full replacement.

Learn More

Emergency Plumbing

Plumbing emergencies don't follow a schedule, and in a home full of young kids and daily activity, things can escalate fast. Cold is on the Right offers emergency plumbing service to Leander homeowners who need help now, not next week. When a pipe bursts or a toilet overflows and won't stop, we're the team you call.

Learn More

Gas Line Installation

Many Leander homeowners are adding gas appliances, outdoor grills, or generators and need safe, code-compliant gas line work to make it happen. Our licensed plumbers handle gas line installation and extensions with the precision and care that working with gas demands. We make sure every connection is tested, inspected, and ready before we leave your property.

We Know Leander Homes

Most of the homes we service in Leander were built within the last decade, and that shapes everything about how we approach a job here. Newer construction means builder-grade materials, tighter subdivision layouts, and plumbing systems that haven't been tested by years of real-world use yet. We know which common installation shortcuts show up in Central Texas new builds, and we know how to spot them before they turn into bigger problems for your family.

Leander also sits in a part of the Hill Country corridor where hard water is genuinely harsh on plumbing systems. Mineral buildup accumulates faster here than homeowners expect, shortening the life of water heaters, clogging fixtures, and reducing efficiency across the board. Add in the clay-heavy soil that shifts with every drought and rain cycle, and you've got a specific set of conditions that require local experience to navigate well. That's exactly what we bring to every Leander home we service.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my new construction home in Leander has a plumbing problem?
New construction homes can have plumbing issues that don't show up right away, including improperly sealed connections, undersized water heaters, and drain lines installed at the wrong slope. Signs to watch for include slow drains, low water pressure at specific fixtures, water stains appearing within the first year or two, or a water bill that seems higher than expected. If your home is still under builder warranty, document the issue before calling us so you have a record. Even if the warranty has expired, many of these issues are straightforward repairs. Getting a plumbing inspection in the first year or two of ownership is one of the smartest things a new Leander homeowner can do.
Why is my water pressure low in my Leander home?
Low water pressure can be caused by several things, including a partially closed main shutoff valve, a failing pressure regulator, mineral buildup inside pipes from hard water, or a hidden leak somewhere in the system. Leander's water is notably hard, and over time that calcium and magnesium buildup can restrict flow inside supply lines and at fixture aerators. If you're only noticing low pressure at one faucet, it's often just a clogged aerator you can clean yourself. If it's throughout the whole house, that points to something bigger like a pressure regulator issue or a supply line problem that warrants a professional look. We can diagnose it quickly and tell you exactly what's going on.
How much does it cost to replace a water heater in Leander?
Water heater replacement in the Leander area typically runs between $900 and $1,800 for a standard tank unit, depending on the size, brand, and any code-required upgrades like expansion tanks or updated connections. Tankless water heater installations run higher, generally between $1,500 and $3,500, because they often require gas line modifications or electrical upgrades. Builder-grade water heaters in newer Leander homes are often on the smaller side and may not keep up with a growing family's demand. When we come out, we assess your household's actual hot water usage and help you choose a unit that's properly sized. We provide upfront pricing before any work begins so there are no surprises.
What are the signs of a slab leak in a Leander home?
Slab leaks are a real concern in Central Texas because the clay-heavy soil expands and contracts with rainfall and drought, which puts stress on pipes running beneath your foundation. Common signs include a water bill that suddenly spikes without explanation, warm or damp spots on your floor, the sound of running water when everything is turned off, or cracks developing in your flooring or baseboards. In newer Leander homes, slab leaks can sometimes trace back to installation issues or stress from settling during the first few years. The sooner you catch a slab leak, the less damage it does to your foundation and flooring. We use non-invasive detection equipment to locate the leak precisely before recommending any repair approach.
Do I need a water softener in Leander?
Leander's water supply is considered very hard, often testing above 300 parts per million in hardness, which is well above the level where most plumbers start recommending treatment. Hard water causes scale buildup inside pipes and water heaters, reduces the efficiency of appliances like dishwashers and washing machines, leaves residue on fixtures and glass, and shortens the lifespan of water heaters significantly. If you've noticed white crusty buildup around faucet heads or your water heater is only a few years old and already showing reduced performance, hard water is likely the culprit. A whole-home water softener is a worthwhile investment in Leander because the payoff in appliance longevity and plumbing health adds up quickly. We can assess your water and recommend a system that fits your household size and usage.
How quickly can you respond to a plumbing emergency in Leander?
We offer emergency plumbing service for Leander homeowners and aim to respond as quickly as possible when urgent situations come up. Burst pipes, sewage backups, and flooding situations are the types of emergencies where every hour matters, and we treat them that way. When you give us a call, be ready to describe what you're seeing so our dispatcher can prioritize appropriately and send the right technician with the right equipment. In the meantime, if water is actively flowing from a broken pipe, locate your main shutoff valve and turn it off to limit damage while you wait. Most Leander homes have the main shutoff near the front of the house by the meter or inside a garage utility closet.
