About Our Emergency Plumbing in Leander

Leander has grown faster than almost any city in Texas, and that growth comes with a unique mix of plumbing challenges. New construction homes sometimes have installation issues that don't surface until a few years in — think loose fittings, improperly sloped drain lines, or water supply connections that were rushed. First-time homeowners unfamiliar with their systems may not recognize early warning signs until a minor drip becomes a serious problem. Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air understands these new-build quirks, and we're equipped to diagnose and fix them fast.

Beyond new construction, Leander's rapid expansion means infrastructure is constantly being stressed. Higher water demand across growing subdivisions, hard Central Texas water that accelerates pipe wear, and the unpredictable weather swings that hit the Hill Country fringe can all push a plumbing system to its limit. Our emergency plumbers know this area and respond quickly so your family isn't left dealing with water damage, no hot water, or a sewage backup any longer than absolutely necessary.

Emergency Plumbing Services We Provide in Leander

Burst and Leaking Pipe Repair

A burst pipe in a Leander home can dump dozens of gallons of water into your walls or foundation before you even realize what's happening. Our plumbers locate the break quickly, shut off the source, and complete a lasting repair so your water supply is restored and further damage is stopped. This is especially critical in newer construction where PEX or CPVC connections occasionally fail under pressure.

Clogged and Backed-Up Drains

Slow or completely blocked drains are one of the most common calls we get from Leander households, particularly in homes with multiple kids or high daily usage. We use professional-grade equipment to clear blockages thoroughly rather than just pushing them further down the line. Whether it's a kitchen drain packed with grease or a main line slowed by debris, we restore proper flow and inspect for underlying causes.

Learn More

Overflowing Toilets

An overflowing toilet is unsanitary, stressful, and needs to be handled immediately to prevent contamination and water damage to your floors and subfloor. Our emergency plumbers identify whether the issue is a local clog, a blocked main line, or a faulty fill valve and fix it at the source. We leave things clean, functional, and safe for your family.

Water Heater Repair and Replacement

Losing hot water is especially disruptive for busy Leander families with young kids who depend on reliable morning routines. We respond fast to water heater failures, whether it's a tripped element, a failed thermostat, or a tank that has reached the end of its life. We carry parts for the most common units and can handle both repair and same-day replacement when needed.

Slab Leak Detection and Repair

Leander's clay-heavy soils shift with the seasons, which can stress the copper or PEX lines running beneath your slab and lead to slow leaks that go unnoticed for months. We use electronic leak detection equipment to pinpoint slab leaks without unnecessary destruction to your flooring or foundation. Catching these early saves significant repair costs and prevents long-term structural damage.

Leak Detection

Not every leak is visible, and hidden leaks inside walls or under floors can cause mold growth and structural damage long before they show up on the surface. Our leak detection process uses specialized listening and pressure tools to find the source accurately so repairs are targeted rather than exploratory. Leander homeowners dealing with rising water bills often find a hidden leak is the culprit.

Sewer Line Emergencies

A sewer line backup is one of the most serious plumbing emergencies a homeowner can face, and the smell and mess make it impossible to ignore. We respond to sewer emergencies throughout Leander, diagnosing whether the issue is a clog, root intrusion, or a line that needs replacement. Getting sewer problems addressed fast protects your family's health and your property from serious contamination.

Learn More

Water Supply Line Failures

Supply lines running to toilets, dishwashers, refrigerators, and washing machines can fail suddenly and flood a room in minutes. Our plumbers shut off the water, replace the failed line with a durable fitting, and check the surrounding area for any moisture damage that may need to be addressed. In newer Leander homes, braided stainless supply lines offer a longer-lasting alternative to the factory-installed plastic versions.

Garbage Disposal Repair

A jammed or broken garbage disposal can bring kitchen cleanup to a halt and sometimes leads to drain backups if the clog isn't cleared properly. We diagnose disposal issues quickly and either restore function or replace the unit depending on its age and condition. Most repairs are fast enough to complete during a single visit so your kitchen is back in operation the same day.

Outdoor Hose Bib and Irrigation Leaks

With large lots and heavy landscaping common in Leander subdivisions, outdoor plumbing gets a serious workout and leaks at hose bibs or irrigation connections can waste thousands of gallons before being noticed. We locate and repair outdoor leaks efficiently so your water bill and your yard aren't paying the price. Cold snaps that occasionally hit the Leander area can also freeze exposed outdoor lines, and we handle those repairs quickly as well.

Whole-Home Plumbing Inspections After an Emergency

After addressing an urgent issue, it's smart to take a broader look at the state of your plumbing system, especially in a newer Leander home where multiple systems were installed rapidly during construction. Our plumbers can walk through the home and identify anything that looks like a developing problem before it becomes the next emergency. A brief inspection today can save a major repair bill next year.

We Know Leander Homes

Most of the homes we service in Leander were built within the last fifteen years, and that matters when diagnosing plumbing problems. Builders working fast to meet demand sometimes leave behind minor installation issues, and those quirks tend to show up right around the time warranties expire. We know what to look for in these newer builds — from PEX manifold connections that were improperly secured to drain lines with just enough slope to cause recurring backups — and we fix them without guesswork.

Leander also sits at the edge of the Hill Country, where clay soil shifts seasonally and the water supply is notoriously hard. That hardness accelerates scale buildup inside water heaters and can shorten the life of fixtures, valves, and supply lines across the home. When you call Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air, you're getting a team that already understands these local conditions and doesn't need to spend your time and money figuring out what they're dealing with.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can an emergency plumber reach my home in Leander?
Response times depend on time of day and current call volume, but we prioritize emergency calls and dispatch as quickly as possible. In most cases, you can expect a plumber to arrive within a couple of hours. Leander's location north of Austin means we have good access to the area without navigating heavy inner-city traffic, which helps us get there faster. If you're dealing with active flooding or a burst pipe, shut off your main water supply while you wait to limit the damage.
What counts as a plumbing emergency versus something that can wait?
A plumbing emergency is anything that poses an immediate risk to your home or family's safety. Active flooding, sewage backups inside the home, burst pipes, no hot water with young children in the house, and a completely blocked main drain all qualify. A slow drip from a faucet or a toilet that runs occasionally can typically be scheduled as a standard appointment without urgency. When in doubt, call us and describe what's happening — we'll help you determine the right course of action.
My Leander home is a newer build. Can new construction homes really have plumbing problems already?
Yes, and it's more common than most new homeowners expect. Builders working quickly to meet Leander's demand sometimes leave behind minor installation issues — slightly misaligned drain lines, loose supply connections, or fittings that weren't properly seated. These often don't surface immediately but tend to show up within the first few years of ownership, right around the time builder warranties expire. Hard Central Texas water also accelerates wear on newer fixtures and water heaters. If something seems off in your newer home, it's worth getting it checked rather than assuming everything is fine because the house is new.
How much does emergency plumbing service cost in Leander?
Costs vary based on the type of repair, time of day, and materials needed. A straightforward repair like a supply line replacement or a cleared drain clog typically runs a few hundred dollars. More involved jobs like slab leak repairs, water heater replacements, or sewer line work can range from several hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on scope. We provide upfront pricing before starting any work so you know exactly what you're agreeing to. We also offer financing for larger jobs so cost doesn't have to delay a necessary repair.
Should I shut off my water before the plumber arrives?
If you have an active leak, burst pipe, or overflowing fixture, yes — shut off your main water supply immediately. Your main shutoff is typically located near your water meter, which in most Leander homes is at the front of the property near the street. If you're unsure where it is, now is a good time to find it before an emergency happens. For issues like a water heater failure or a backed-up drain without active flooding, you can usually leave the main water on and just avoid using that fixture until we arrive.
Do you handle slab leaks as part of emergency plumbing in Leander?
Yes. Slab leaks are something we take seriously because the clay-heavy soils common in the Leander area shift seasonally, which puts stress on the pipes running beneath your foundation. Signs of a slab leak include warm spots on your floor, the sound of running water when everything is turned off, unexplained increases in your water bill, and cracks appearing in your flooring or walls. We use electronic detection equipment to locate the leak accurately before opening anything up, which saves time and reduces the disruption to your home. Catching a slab leak early makes a significant difference in the overall cost of repair.
