About Our HVAC Services in Bee Cave

Bee Cave is home to some of the newer, more thoughtfully built residential communities in the Austin metro, and the HVAC systems in these homes reflect that. High-efficiency two-stage units, zoned systems, variable-speed air handlers, and smart thermostats are common here. That means HVAC service in Bee Cave requires technicians who are comfortable working with sophisticated equipment, not just swapping out basic components. Cold is on the Right has the training and experience to work on modern systems the right way.

At the same time, the Hill Country climate does not go easy on HVAC equipment. The brutal Central Texas summers push cooling systems hard, and even relatively newer equipment can develop issues if maintenance is skipped or original installation was not done to standard. We handle everything from routine preventive maintenance to complex diagnostics and full system replacements, and we always give Bee Cave homeowners the honest, detailed answers they expect when investing in their home.

HVAC Services We Provide in Bee Cave

AC Repair

When your air conditioning starts struggling in the middle of a Bee Cave summer, you need answers fast. We diagnose issues across all major brands and system types, including the high-efficiency variable-speed units common in newer Bee Cave homes. Whether it is a refrigerant issue, a failing capacitor, or a compressor problem, we find it and fix it right.

AC Installation

Installing a new air conditioning system in a Bee Cave home means properly sizing the unit for your square footage, ceiling heights, and insulation quality — not just swapping in whatever fits the existing pad. We walk you through equipment options, explain efficiency ratings honestly, and install to manufacturer and code standards so your new system performs the way it should from day one.

Learn More

AC Replacement

If your current system is aging out or costing more to keep running than it is worth, replacement is often the smarter financial move. We help Bee Cave homeowners evaluate their options with clear cost comparisons, recommend appropriately sized high-SEER equipment, and handle the full replacement from removal to startup verification.

HVAC Maintenance

Preventive maintenance is the single best investment you can make in a high-efficiency HVAC system. In Bee Cave, where summer cooling loads are intense and equipment runs hard for months at a time, annual or biannual tune-ups catch small issues before they become expensive failures. Our maintenance visits include a thorough inspection, cleaning, and performance check of every major component.

HVAC Repair

From strange noises and short cycling to unresponsive thermostats and hot spots in your home, our technicians track down HVAC problems across all system types. Bee Cave homes often feature zoned systems and smart controls, and we are experienced diagnosing issues in those more complex setups, not just the straightforward single-zone systems.

HVAC Replacement

A full HVAC replacement is a significant investment, and Bee Cave homeowners deserve a thorough process, not a rushed sale. We assess your existing system, evaluate your home's load requirements, and present options that match your comfort goals and budget. We also handle proper disposal of old equipment and full commissioning of the new system.

Heat Pump Installation

Heat pumps are an excellent fit for the Bee Cave climate, delivering efficient cooling in summer and reliable heating through mild Central Texas winters without the operating costs of a traditional gas furnace setup. We size and install heat pump systems correctly, including the electrical work and refrigerant lines, so you get the efficiency you are paying for.

Learn More

Heat Pump Repair

Heat pumps have unique failure modes that differ from standard AC units, including reversing valve issues, defrost cycle problems, and refrigerant imbalances that require a technician who actually understands how they work. We diagnose and repair heat pump systems accurately, restoring both heating and cooling function without unnecessary part replacements.

Mini Splits

Ductless mini split systems are increasingly popular in Bee Cave for home additions, bonus rooms over garages, and detached casitas where running new ductwork is not practical. We install and service multi-zone and single-zone mini split systems from leading manufacturers, ensuring correct placement, refrigerant charge, and electrical connections for quiet, efficient performance.

Furnace Repair

While Bee Cave winters are mild compared to much of the country, a furnace that stops working on a cold January night is still a real problem. We repair gas and electric furnaces quickly, checking heat exchangers, ignition systems, and airflow to restore safe, reliable heat. We also flag any safety concerns, including cracked heat exchangers, during every visit.

Furnace Replacement

When a furnace has reached the end of its useful life or repairs are no longer cost-effective, we make the replacement process straightforward. We help you choose the right system for your Bee Cave home, handle proper venting and gas line connections, and verify safe operation before we leave. Upfront pricing means no surprises on the final bill.

We Know Bee Cave Homes

Most of the residential neighborhoods in Bee Cave were built within the last 10 to 20 years, which means homeowners are typically dealing with equipment that is either approaching its first major service interval or still under manufacturer warranty. That newer construction context matters because these systems, often two-stage or variable-speed setups with communicating thermostats and zoned ductwork, require technicians who understand how they are designed to operate, not just how to swap parts. We work on this type of equipment regularly and know where the common failure points are as it ages.

The Lake Travis area also brings its own climate considerations. Homes closer to the water can see higher humidity loads that stress cooling systems, and the wide-open Hill Country exposure means outdoor units take a beating from heat and debris during storm season. Add in the long, demanding Central Texas cooling season, and even a well-installed system needs consistent attention to stay efficient. Our familiarity with Bee Cave's specific mix of housing stock, climate conditions, and equipment types means we are not guessing when we show up at your door.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my HVAC system serviced in Bee Cave?
Most HVAC manufacturers recommend service at least once a year, but in the Bee Cave area, twice a year is a smarter approach given the climate. A spring tune-up prepares your AC for the long Central Texas cooling season, and a fall check gets your heating system ready before temperatures drop. Skipping maintenance on high-efficiency two-stage or variable-speed systems can void warranty coverage and lead to premature failures that are much more expensive than the cost of a maintenance visit.
My home has a zoned HVAC system. Can you work on it?
Yes. Zoned systems and communicating HVAC setups are common in newer Bee Cave homes, and our technicians are experienced with them. Diagnosing issues in a zoned system requires understanding how the zone control board, dampers, and thermostat are communicating with each other, which is different from troubleshooting a standard single-zone system. We work on all major zoning systems and can handle everything from a stuck damper to a full zone control board replacement.
What is a fair price for AC repair in Bee Cave?
AC repair costs in Bee Cave vary depending on what needs to be fixed. A capacitor replacement typically runs in the $150 to $300 range, while a refrigerant recharge can be $250 to $500 or more depending on the refrigerant type your system uses. More involved repairs involving a compressor or evaporator coil can run $800 to $1,500 or higher. We provide a written estimate before any work starts so you always know what you are agreeing to before we begin.
When does it make more sense to replace my HVAC system than repair it?
A good rule of thumb is to consider replacement when repair costs exceed 30 to 50 percent of what a new system would cost, or when your equipment is 12 to 15 years old and has a history of repeated problems. For Bee Cave homeowners with high-efficiency systems, there is also an efficiency argument: a newer system with a higher SEER rating can meaningfully reduce energy bills, often enough to offset the replacement cost over time. We provide honest, side-by-side comparisons of repair versus replace so you can make a financially informed decision.
Does the humidity near Lake Travis affect my HVAC system?
It can. Homes closer to Lake Travis and the Bee Cave waterfront corridor can see elevated humidity loads, which forces your cooling system to work harder to maintain comfort. Over time, high humidity can also contribute to mold growth in drain pans and ductwork if the system is not properly maintained. A well-calibrated system with clean coils and a clear drainage path handles humidity much more effectively, which is one more reason regular maintenance pays off in this specific area.
How long does a full HVAC replacement take in Bee Cave?
Most residential HVAC replacements in Bee Cave can be completed in a single day, typically four to eight hours depending on the complexity of the job, the system configuration, and whether any ductwork modifications are needed. We schedule the work at a time that minimizes disruption to your household, bring the equipment we need in advance, and do not leave until the system has been fully commissioned and tested. You will have heat or cooling restored the same day in the vast majority of cases.
