Plumbing Services We Provide in Steiner Ranch

Plumbing Repairs

From dripping faucets to burst pipes, our plumbers diagnose and repair plumbing problems quickly and correctly. Steiner Ranch homes built in the 2000s and early 2010s are reaching the age where supply lines, valves, and fixtures commonly begin to fail, and we know exactly what to look for. We fix the problem, not just the symptom.

Drain Cleaning

Slow drains and recurring clogs are among the most common calls we get from Steiner Ranch homeowners, especially in homes with multiple bathrooms and busy kitchens. We use professional-grade equipment to clear blockages thoroughly rather than just temporarily. Regular drain cleaning also protects your pipes from buildup that gets harder to remove over time.

Learn More

Leak Detection

Hidden leaks can quietly cause thousands of dollars in structural damage before you ever notice a water stain. We use advanced leak detection tools to pinpoint the source without unnecessary demolition to your home's finishes. In a community like Steiner Ranch where homes have quality interior work, that precision matters.

Learn More

Slab Leak Detection

Many Steiner Ranch homes are built on slab foundations, which means plumbing lines run beneath the concrete. When a pipe under the slab develops a leak, water can erode soil, damage flooring, and drive up your water bill before the problem is obvious. We locate slab leaks accurately and walk you through repair options that fit your situation.

Learn More

Whole House Repiping

Homes built in the early 2000s used a variety of supply line materials, and some of those systems are now showing signs of corrosion, pinhole leaks, or reduced flow. Whole house repiping replaces aging pipe throughout the home so you're not dealing with repeated spot repairs year after year. It's one of the best investments a Steiner Ranch homeowner can make in a home's long-term value.

Learn More

Sewer Line Replacement

Mature landscaping and tree roots common in established Steiner Ranch neighborhoods can intrude on sewer lines over time, leading to slow drains, backups, and unpleasant odors. We inspect, diagnose, and replace damaged sewer lines using methods that minimize disruption to your yard and landscaping. Getting ahead of sewer line failure protects your home and avoids much larger repair costs down the road.

Learn More

Water Heaters

If your water heater was installed when your home was built, it may be approaching or past its expected lifespan. We service, repair, and replace traditional tank water heaters and can help you decide whether it makes sense to upgrade to a tankless system. Steiner Ranch homeowners with larger homes and high hot water demand especially benefit from a properly sized, efficient unit.

Learn More

Tankless Water Heater Installation

Tankless water heaters are a popular upgrade in Steiner Ranch homes, offering on-demand hot water and meaningfully lower energy bills. Our technicians size and install tankless systems correctly for your home's square footage and usage patterns, which is critical to getting the performance these units are capable of. We handle everything from gas line work to venting so the installation is done right from the start.

Water Softeners

The Austin area is known for hard water, and Steiner Ranch is no exception. Hard water accelerates wear on appliances, leaves buildup in fixtures, and shortens the life of your water heater and pipes. A properly installed water softener protects your plumbing investment and makes a noticeable difference in everyday water quality.

Learn More

Water Filters

Beyond softening, many Steiner Ranch homeowners want cleaner, better-tasting water throughout the house or at the kitchen tap. We install whole-home filtration systems and under-sink filters that remove chlorine, sediment, and other common contaminants from municipal water. It's a straightforward upgrade that homeowners notice immediately.

Emergency Plumbing

Plumbing emergencies don't wait for business hours, and in a high-value home, a burst pipe or sudden sewage backup needs immediate attention. Our team is available for emergency service in Steiner Ranch when time is critical and the stakes are high. We respond quickly, assess the situation calmly, and get your home stabilized without the panic-pricing you might see elsewhere.

We Know Steiner Ranch Homes

Most homes in Steiner Ranch were built between 2000 and 2015, which puts a large portion of the community's plumbing systems right in that critical window where original components start reaching the end of their useful life. Water heaters installed at construction are commonly 15 to 20 years old now, supply lines are showing wear, and builder-grade fixtures have had years of hard Austin water running through them. We see these patterns every week in this neighborhood, and we come to each job already knowing what's likely going on before we even run diagnostics.

The proximity to Lake Travis and the Hill Country terrain also plays a role. Steiner Ranch sits on limestone geology that affects soil stability under slabs and can contribute to shifting that stresses underground plumbing. The area's notoriously hard water accelerates scale buildup inside pipes and on heating elements, cutting appliance life shorter than homeowners expect. When you call Cold is on the Right, you're getting a team that understands Steiner Ranch specifically, not just a plumber who's never been west of MoPac.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my water heater needs to be replaced or just repaired?
A water heater's typical lifespan is 8 to 12 years for a tank unit, though many in Steiner Ranch homes are pushing 15 or more years since they were installed at original construction. If your unit is older and you're experiencing inconsistent hot water, rumbling sounds during heating, or visible rust around the tank, replacement is usually the more cost-effective path. Repairs make more sense on newer units with isolated issues like a failed heating element or a faulty thermostat. During our visit, we'll assess the unit's age and condition and give you an honest recommendation either way. We'll also walk you through the cost difference between a standard replacement and upgrading to a tankless system if that's worth considering for your home.
