We know that when you live west of Austin, waiting around for a service window that never closes isn't an option. We communicate clearly, arrive when we say we will, and get your system running the way it should so you're not left dealing with the consequences of unreliable service in the middle of July.

HVAC Services We Provide in Dripping Springs

AC Repair

When your air conditioner stops keeping up with a Dripping Springs summer, you feel it fast. We diagnose cooling failures, refrigerant issues, and electrical problems quickly and get your system back to full capacity. Whether it's a worn compressor or a clogged drain line, we fix the real issue — not just the symptom.

AC Installation

Installing a new air conditioner in a custom Hill Country home takes proper load calculations and equipment sizing — especially when square footage and ceiling heights vary. We select and install energy-efficient systems that match your home's specific layout and cooling demands, so you're not overpaying to run an undersized or oversized unit.

Learn More

AC Replacement

Older AC units on Dripping Springs properties are often working harder than they should, running longer cycles and hiking up energy bills in the process. When repair costs start stacking up or your unit is past its useful life, we walk you through replacement options clearly and install a system that delivers better efficiency and long-term reliability.

Learn More

HVAC Maintenance

Routine HVAC maintenance matters even more when your home is farther from town and an emergency call means a longer wait. We tune up your system before the seasons change, clean coils, check refrigerant levels, inspect electrical connections, and catch small problems before they turn into expensive failures at the worst possible time.

HVAC Repair

HVAC problems in Dripping Springs don't always announce themselves at a convenient moment. Strange noises, inconsistent temperatures across a large floorplan, or a system that keeps tripping the breaker are all signs something needs attention. Our technicians diagnose and repair the full range of HVAC issues across all major brands and system types.

Learn More

HVAC Replacement

When your aging system has reached the end of its run, replacement is often the smarter financial move — especially with today's high-efficiency equipment. We assess your current setup, recommend appropriately sized replacement systems for your home's footprint, and handle the full installation so everything is code-compliant and performing from day one.

Learn More

Heat Pump Installation

Heat pumps are a strong fit for Hill Country properties where winters are mild enough that a heat pump handles heating duty efficiently without needing a gas furnace to carry the load. We size and install heat pump systems that work with your existing ductwork or as part of a full system upgrade.

Learn More

Heat Pump Repair

A heat pump that's struggling to heat or cool a large custom home out here is a real problem, and diagnosing heat pump issues correctly requires experience with the refrigerant cycle, reversing valve, and control systems. Our technicians identify the root cause and repair it properly so your system runs reliably through both sides of the season.

Learn More

Mini Splits

Detached garages, workshops, guest quarters, and additions are common on Dripping Springs acreage properties, and extending existing ductwork to those spaces often isn't practical. Mini split systems offer efficient, independent heating and cooling for those spaces without major construction, and we handle both the installation and any future service needs.

Learn More

Furnace Repair

When a Hill Country cold front moves through and your furnace isn't responding the way it should, the problem needs to be addressed quickly. We repair gas and electric furnaces across all major brands, checking heat exchangers, ignitors, limit switches, and controls to get your heat back on safely and reliably.

Learn More

Furnace Replacement

Older furnaces in Dripping Springs homes sometimes haven't been serviced in years, and by the time they fail they're often well past a reasonable repair window. We replace outdated furnace systems with properly sized, high-efficiency units and handle all connections, venting, and testing so your new system is ready before cold weather arrives.

We Know Dripping Springs Homes

Dripping Springs is home to a wide range of property types — newer custom builds on multi-acre lots, established ranch-style homes that have been out here for decades, and everything in between. The newer construction often comes with larger square footage and higher ceilings that require careful equipment sizing to heat and cool effectively, while older homes sometimes have original ductwork or equipment that was never quite right for the space. We've worked on enough Dripping Springs properties to know where the common trouble spots are and how to address them without throwing parts at a problem until something works.

The Hill Country environment adds its own layer of demands. Dust and cedar pollen load up filters faster than in the city, well water with high mineral content can affect equipment that uses water-cooled or humidification components, and the temperature swings between a July afternoon and a January cold front are harder on systems than many homeowners expect. When you're a long drive from the nearest supply house and the next available technician, reliability isn't a nice-to-have — it's the whole thing. That's the standard we hold ourselves to every time we service a home out here.

Why Dripping Springs Homeowners Choose Us

Dripping Springs homeowners don't have the luxury of a dozen HVAC companies competing for their business a few miles away. That makes choosing the right team more important — and it's why Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air focuses on being the kind of company you can actually rely on out here, not just a name you find on a search page.

Licensed and Experienced

Our technicians are fully licensed and insured, with real-world experience servicing the range of HVAC systems found in Hill Country homes — from older units to new high-efficiency installs.

Upfront Pricing

We give you a clear estimate before any work begins. No hidden fees, no charges that appear on your invoice that were never discussed — just honest pricing from the start.

Emergency Service Available

When your AC fails on a 100-degree Hill Country afternoon, you can't wait days for a technician. We offer emergency HVAC service because we know comfort and safety don't follow a schedule.

Local Knowledge

We've worked on Dripping Springs properties long enough to understand what the local climate, dust, and property types mean for your HVAC system. That context makes our diagnostics faster and our recommendations more accurate.

Financing Options for Dripping Springs Homeowners

A full HVAC replacement or new system installation is a significant investment, and we don't think that should mean going without proper heating and cooling in your home. Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air offers financing options for qualifying customers on larger HVAC jobs so you can move forward without putting the whole cost out of pocket at once. Ask us about current financing terms when you call to schedule.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my HVAC system serviced if I live in Dripping Springs?
Twice a year is the standard recommendation — once in the spring before cooling season and once in the fall before heating season. In Dripping Springs specifically, the heavy cedar and oak pollen load in late winter and early spring can clog filters and coat coils faster than in urban areas, so staying ahead of maintenance is especially worthwhile. A pre-summer tune-up ensures your AC is ready for the months when Hill Country temperatures are consistently above 95 degrees. Skipping maintenance often leads to efficiency loss and mid-season breakdowns that are both uncomfortable and more expensive to fix.
How often should I have my HVAC system serviced if I live in Dripping Springs?
Well water in the Dripping Springs area tends to be hard, with elevated mineral content from the limestone geology of the Hill Country. This matters most if you have any water-cooled equipment or a whole-home humidifier tied into your HVAC system, where mineral buildup can cause scaling over time. Even for standard forced-air systems, the dustier conditions common on rural properties mean air filters and coils need more frequent attention. It's worth mentioning your water source when you schedule service so our technician can account for any related factors during the inspection.
Is a heat pump a good choice for a Dripping Springs home?
Heat pumps work very well in Central Texas climates like Dripping Springs, where winters are generally mild and true sustained cold snaps are short-lived. In moderate heating conditions, a heat pump is significantly more efficient than a gas furnace because it moves heat rather than generating it. The main consideration is your home's size and layout — larger custom homes with longer duct runs need properly sized equipment to heat and cool effectively. We'll assess your specific property and give you an honest comparison of heat pump versus traditional systems based on your home's square footage, insulation, and existing infrastructure.
How do I know if I should repair or replace my HVAC system?
The general rule of thumb is that if the repair cost exceeds roughly 30 percent of what a replacement would cost, and the unit is already 10 to 15 years old, replacement usually makes more financial sense over time. In Dripping Springs, where summers are long and your system runs hard for months on end, an aging unit that's losing efficiency will also show up in your energy bills every month. We'll give you a clear estimate for both options and walk you through the math honestly — there's no pressure to replace if a repair is the right call for your situation. We also offer a free second opinion on replacement recommendations.
What should I do if my AC stops working on a hot day and I can't get an immediate appointment?
First, check your thermostat settings and replace the air filter if it's heavily clogged, since a blocked filter can cause the system to shut down on a safety limit. Check your circuit breaker panel for a tripped breaker on the HVAC circuit and reset it if needed. If the outdoor unit is running but no cool air is coming through, or if nothing is running at all after checking those basics, stop the system to avoid further damage and call us for emergency service. On the hottest days, close blinds, move to interior rooms, and use fans to stay comfortable while you wait. Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air offers emergency service for no-cool situations — contact us, and we'll prioritize your call.
Do you service older HVAC systems, or only newer equipment?
We service all major brands and a wide range of system ages, including older units that have been on Dripping Springs properties for many years. That said, parts availability does become a factor as systems age past 15 or 20 years, and some older refrigerants like R-22 are no longer manufactured, which makes recharging those systems expensive and increasingly impractical. We'll always give you an honest assessment of whether a repair is a good long-term investment or whether your money is better spent on a replacement. There's no point in paying to keep an aging system alive if it's going to fail again before the next summer is out.
