About Our Heating Repairs in Bee Cave

Bee Cave is home to some of the Austin area's finest newer construction — beautifully designed homes in communities like Falconhead, The Vineyard at Bee Cave, and along the 620 corridor. Many of these homes were built in the 2000s and 2010s and feature modern HVAC systems, including multi-stage furnaces and heat pump setups designed for Texas's mixed climate. But even newer equipment needs professional attention, and when your system isn't performing the way it should, Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air is the team Bee Cave homeowners call.

We understand that Bee Cave residents expect a higher level of professionalism and precision — and that's exactly what we deliver. Our technicians arrive on time, communicate clearly, and provide upfront pricing before any work begins. We service all major heating system brands and models, and we carry the parts to handle most repairs in a single visit. No runaround, no surprises on the invoice.

Heating Repairs We Provide in Bee Cave

Furnace Repair

When your furnace stops heating effectively or shuts off mid-cycle, our technicians pinpoint the cause fast. Bee Cave homes with modern multi-stage furnaces require precise diagnostics — we handle everything from igniter failures and cracked heat exchangers to blower motor issues and control board faults.

Learn More

Heat Pump Repair

Heat pumps are common in Bee Cave's newer homes because they handle Texas's mild winters and hot summers efficiently. When your heat pump loses its heating capacity, starts icing up, or makes unusual sounds, we diagnose and repair refrigerant issues, reversing valve failures, compressor problems, and more.

Learn More

HVAC System Repair

Your heating system doesn't operate in isolation — issues with your air handler, ductwork, or thermostat wiring can all impact heating performance. We repair complete HVAC systems in Bee Cave homes, addressing root causes rather than just symptoms so the problem doesn't come back next cold snap.

Learn More

Furnace Replacement

If your furnace is beyond repair or the cost of fixing it doesn't make financial sense, we'll give you an honest recommendation. We install energy-efficient replacement furnaces suited to Bee Cave's newer, well-insulated homes and handle the full removal and installation process.

Learn More

Furnace Installation

Whether you're adding supplemental heating to a bonus room or replacing a system in a new build, Cold is on the Right handles furnace installation with precision. We size the system correctly for your home's square footage and layout so you get consistent, efficient heating throughout.

Learn More

Thermostat Repair and Replacement

A malfunctioning thermostat can make a perfectly good heating system behave erratically. We diagnose smart thermostat connectivity issues, wiring problems, and calibration errors common in Bee Cave's tech-forward homes, and we can upgrade your system to a programmable or smart thermostat if needed.

Ignition System Repair

Modern furnaces rely on electronic ignition systems rather than standing pilot lights, and when the igniter fails, you get cold air or no air at all. We replace faulty igniters and flame sensors quickly, restoring reliable heating to your home without unnecessary delays.

Blower Motor Repair

The blower motor circulates heated air through your home's ductwork, and when it fails or runs inefficiently, some rooms stay cold while others overheat. We repair and replace blower motors and capacitors in all major furnace brands, restoring balanced airflow throughout your Bee Cave home.

Heat Exchanger Inspection and Repair

A cracked heat exchanger is one of the more serious furnace problems — it can allow carbon monoxide to enter your living space. We perform thorough heat exchanger inspections and advise Bee Cave homeowners honestly about whether repair or replacement is the right path forward.

Ductwork Repair and Sealing

Even in newer Bee Cave construction, duct joints can separate or develop leaks over time, sending heated air into attic spaces instead of living areas. We inspect, seal, and repair ductwork to ensure your heating system's output actually reaches the rooms you're paying to heat.

Heating System Tune-Up and Maintenance

Preventive maintenance is the best way to avoid unexpected heating failures during a cold front. Our tune-up service covers cleaning, lubrication, safety checks, and performance testing — giving Bee Cave homeowners peace of mind heading into winter and extending the life of their equipment.

We Know Bee Cave Homes

Most of Bee Cave's residential development happened in the 2000s and 2010s, which means the heating systems in these homes are entering the phase of life where components start showing wear. The multi-stage furnaces and heat pump setups common in Falconhead, Rocky Creek, and the Vineyard communities perform well when properly maintained, but they're more complex than older single-stage equipment and require technicians who understand their diagnostics and controls. We work in these neighborhoods regularly and know exactly what we're looking at when we open the access panel.

The Hill Country location also matters. Bee Cave sits at an elevation where cold fronts hit harder and faster than they do closer to Austin, and the seasonal humidity swings around Lake Travis can accelerate wear on certain HVAC components over time. We factor in those local conditions when we make repair recommendations — so we're not just fixing what broke today, we're helping you avoid what might fail next season.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a heating repair typically cost in Bee Cave?
Heating repair costs in Bee Cave vary depending on what's failed and the complexity of your system. Common repairs like igniter replacement or a capacitor swap typically run in the $150 to $350 range. More involved repairs, such as a blower motor replacement or refrigerant recharge on a heat pump, generally fall between $400 and $800. If a control board or heat exchanger needs replacement, costs can exceed $1,000 — at that point we'll give you an honest comparison between repair and replacement so you can make the best financial decision.
My Bee Cave home has a heat pump instead of a furnace — do you repair those?
Yes, we repair heat pumps regularly throughout Bee Cave and the Lake Travis area. Heat pumps are common in newer Bee Cave construction because they handle Texas's mixed climate efficiently, but they do have unique failure modes including refrigerant leaks, reversing valve failures, and defrost cycle issues. We're familiar with all major heat pump brands and can typically diagnose and repair most problems in a single visit. If your heat pump is struggling to keep up during a cold snap rather than failing outright, that's often a refrigerant or reversing valve issue worth addressing before it gets worse.
How long does a heating repair take?
Most heating repairs in Bee Cave homes can be completed in two to four hours during a single service visit. We carry a broad inventory of common parts on our trucks, which eliminates most delays. More complex repairs involving specialty components for high-end or less common systems may require a return visit if a part needs to be ordered, though we always aim to have your heat restored as quickly as possible. We'll give you a realistic timeline upfront so you can plan accordingly.
Should I repair my furnace or replace it?
The general rule of thumb is to consider replacement when repair costs exceed 50% of the cost of a new system, especially if your equipment is over 15 years old. For Bee Cave homes built in the mid-2000s, many original furnaces are now in that window. A newer, properly sized system will also be significantly more energy-efficient than an aging unit limping along after multiple repairs. We'll give you a straight answer when we're on-site — we don't push replacements when a repair makes more sense, and we don't oversell repairs when a replacement is clearly the better value.
Is it normal for my heating bill to spike in winter even with a newer system?
A modest seasonal increase is normal, but a sharp spike usually indicates the system is working harder than it should. In Bee Cave, common culprits include refrigerant loss in a heat pump, a failing capacitor causing the system to run less efficiently, or duct leaks sending conditioned air into your attic. Smart thermostat data can actually be really useful here — if you have a connected system, look at your runtime hours versus recent months. A system that's running significantly longer to hit the same temperature is telling you something needs attention.
Do you offer heating maintenance plans for Bee Cave homeowners?
Yes, we offer preventive maintenance services for heating systems throughout Bee Cave. A professional tune-up typically includes cleaning the burners or heat pump coils, checking refrigerant levels, testing the ignition system, inspecting the heat exchanger, lubricating moving parts, and verifying thermostat calibration. For Bee Cave homes with newer, more sophisticated HVAC systems, regular maintenance is especially worthwhile because catching a minor issue early prevents it from becoming a major repair. We recommend scheduling a heating tune-up each fall before the season's first cold front arrives.
