About Our Furnace Installation in Bee Cave

Bee Cave is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Austin metro, and the homes here reflect that — large square footages, open floor plans, and sophisticated HVAC zoning needs that demand more than a one-size-fits-all approach. Cold is on the Right works with the full range of homes in this area, from newer construction in Falconhead West and Spanish Oaks to larger custom builds closer to Lake Travis, and we know how to size and install a furnace system that actually performs across every room.

The Hill Country climate west of Austin brings its own challenges. Winters here are short but sharp, and a furnace that's undersized or poorly installed will struggle when temperatures drop into the 20s and 30s. We assess your home's load requirements, existing ductwork condition, and zoning setup before recommending a system — so the furnace we install is precisely matched to your home, not just whatever's available on the truck.

Furnace Replacement

When your existing furnace is beyond repair or simply too inefficient for today's energy costs, a full replacement is the smarter long-term investment. We remove and dispose of your old unit and install a modern high-efficiency system that reduces monthly energy bills without sacrificing comfort. Bee Cave homeowners often see significant savings when upgrading from older systems.

Zoned HVAC System Installation

Many Bee Cave homes are large enough that a single-zone furnace system leaves some rooms too hot and others too cold. We design and install multi-zone heating systems with independent thermostats for different areas of your home, giving you precise control and better efficiency. This is especially valuable in two-story homes and properties with finished basements or bonus rooms.

Ductwork Installation and Modification

A new furnace is only as good as the ductwork delivering its output. We inspect and, where needed, install or reconfigure duct systems to work properly with your new unit's airflow requirements. In newer Bee Cave construction, we often find duct layouts that need adjustment to fully support a higher-efficiency furnace upgrade.

Smart Thermostat Integration

We integrate your new furnace installation with smart thermostat systems, including Nest, Ecobee, and other leading platforms popular among Bee Cave homeowners. Proper integration ensures your furnace communicates correctly with multi-stage and variable-speed systems so you get the energy savings those features are designed to deliver. We handle programming and setup so you're in control from day one.

High-Efficiency and Variable-Speed Furnace Installation

Modern variable-speed and two-stage furnaces deliver quieter operation, better humidity control, and lower utility bills compared to standard units. We specialize in installing these higher-end systems, which are a natural fit for Bee Cave's custom and semi-custom homes. Our technicians are trained on the specific installation requirements these advanced systems demand.

Furnace Repair

If your furnace is struggling but not ready for replacement, our technicians diagnose and repair the issue quickly and accurately. From ignitor failures and heat exchanger cracks to blower motor problems, we carry the parts and knowledge to handle most repairs in a single visit. Catching problems early can extend the life of your system and avoid a full replacement on the coldest night of the year.

HVAC System Maintenance

Annual furnace maintenance keeps your system running efficiently and catches small issues before they become expensive failures. Our maintenance visits include burner inspection, heat exchanger checks, filter replacement, and a full system performance test. For Bee Cave homeowners with premium HVAC systems, regular maintenance also protects manufacturer warranties.

Heating System Repairs

Beyond the furnace itself, we service the full heating system including heat pumps, air handlers, and all associated controls and wiring. Bee Cave homes often have complex HVAC configurations, and our technicians are familiar with the multi-zone and dual-fuel setups common in this area. We troubleshoot the whole system, not just the most obvious symptom.

Gas Line Inspection and Connection

A proper gas furnace installation requires a safe, correctly sized gas line connection. We inspect existing gas lines for capacity and condition, and we handle any necessary upgrades or new connections as part of the installation process. Every connection is tested and verified before your new system goes live.

Post-Installation System Commissioning

After installation is complete, we commission your new furnace by running a full system start-up test and verifying that every stage, zone, and control is functioning as designed. We walk you through the operation of your new system, thermostat settings, and filter maintenance schedule before we leave. You'll feel confident about your investment before we're out the door.

We Know Bee Cave Homes

Bee Cave is defined by newer construction, and most of the homes we service here were built in the 2000s or later — which means modern two-stage and variable-speed HVAC systems, multi-zone setups, and sophisticated ductwork layouts are the norm rather than the exception. That's a good thing, but it also means furnace installations here require more precision and product knowledge than a straightforward swap in an older, simpler home. We're familiar with the builders and HVAC configurations common to neighborhoods like Falconhead, Spanish Oaks, and the communities along Hamilton Pool Road.

The location west of Austin introduces some factors that matter for furnace performance. Hill Country topography means homes sit at varying elevations and face different wind exposures, and the dry, dusty conditions out here put more stress on air filters and heat exchangers than a city home might see. We factor all of that into our equipment recommendations and installation approach, so the system we put in is built to perform in this specific environment, not just wherever the manufacturer's spec sheet was written.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a furnace installation typically cost in Bee Cave?
Furnace installation costs in Bee Cave generally range from $3,500 to $7,500 or more depending on the size and efficiency rating of the unit, the complexity of your existing ductwork, and whether any zoning or smart thermostat integration is needed. High-efficiency variable-speed systems cost more upfront but deliver meaningful savings on monthly energy bills over time. Larger homes in Bee Cave — common in neighborhoods like Spanish Oaks or Falconhead — typically require higher-capacity units, which affects total cost. We provide a detailed, upfront quote after assessing your specific home so there are no surprises.
How long does a furnace installation take in Bee Cave?
Most furnace installations in Bee Cave are completed in one day, typically in four to eight hours depending on the complexity of the job. Straightforward replacements where the existing ductwork and gas lines are in good condition on the faster end, while installations requiring ductwork modifications, new gas line work, or multi-zone configurations will take longer. We'll give you a realistic time estimate when we assess your home so you can plan accordingly. Our technicians work efficiently and cleanly, and we don't leave until the system is fully tested and you're comfortable with how everything works.
What size furnace does my Bee Cave home need?
Furnace sizing depends on your home's square footage, ceiling heights, insulation quality, window area, and how your home is oriented relative to prevailing winds — all factors that vary significantly among Bee Cave's custom and semi-custom homes. A furnace that's too small won't keep up on cold nights, while an oversized unit will short-cycle, wear out faster, and leave the air feeling clammy. We perform a proper Manual J load calculation before recommending any equipment, so your new furnace is matched to your home's actual heating requirements rather than a rough square footage estimate.
Should I replace my furnace and AC at the same time?
If your AC unit is within a few years of your furnace in age and showing signs of wear, replacing both together often makes financial and practical sense. Newer furnaces and air handlers are designed to work as matched systems, and installing them together ensures compatibility, maximizes efficiency ratings, and typically reduces total installation labor costs compared to two separate projects. In Bee Cave, where home comfort expectations are high and HVAC systems are often sophisticated, having a matched system also simplifies future maintenance and warranty claims. We'll give you an honest assessment of your AC's condition alongside any furnace recommendation.
Do new furnaces in Bee Cave qualify for any rebates or tax credits?
Yes, high-efficiency furnaces often qualify for federal tax credits under current energy efficiency incentive programs, and some utility providers in the area offer rebates for qualifying equipment upgrades. The specific credit amounts and eligibility requirements depend on the efficiency rating of the system installed and the tax year. We can help identify which systems qualify for available incentives when we provide your installation quote. Keeping documentation of the equipment installed and its efficiency ratings is important for claiming these credits, and we provide that paperwork as part of our installation process.
How often should I have my new furnace serviced after installation?
Annual maintenance is the standard recommendation for any furnace, and it's especially important for the high-efficiency and variable-speed systems common in Bee Cave homes. A yearly tune-up covers burner cleaning, heat exchanger inspection, blower motor check, filter replacement, and a full performance test — all of which keep the system running at peak efficiency and catch developing issues before they become failures. Most manufacturers also require documented annual maintenance to keep warranty coverage valid, which matters given the cost of premium systems. Scheduling service in the fall before heating season begins is the best practice so any issues are caught before you actually need the heat.
