Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air has been solving plumbing problems for homeowners throughout Pflugerville for years. A lot of the homes here were built in the 1990s and early 2000s, and that means the plumbing systems in many of these houses are approaching the age where things start to wear out. We know what to look for, and we know how to fix it without overselling you on work you don't need.

Whether you're dealing with a stubborn clog, a slab leak under your foundation, or a water heater that's finally given up, our team handles the full scope of residential and commercial plumbing in Pflugerville. We walk you through what's wrong, explain your options clearly, and give you a firm price before we start. No surprises on the invoice, no runaround on timing. Plumbing Services We Provide in Pflugerville

Plumbing Repairs

From leaky faucets and running toilets to broken supply lines and failed shut-off valves, our plumbers handle the full range of repairs that Pflugerville homeowners encounter. Homes built in the 1990s and 2000s are hitting the age where fixtures and fittings start to fail — catching these issues early prevents the kind of water damage that turns a small fix into a major expense.

Drain Cleaning

Slow drains and recurring clogs are among the most common calls we get from Pflugerville homes. Years of buildup in older drain lines, combined with hard Central Texas water that leaves mineral deposits inside pipes, can seriously restrict flow over time. We use professional-grade equipment to clear the blockage at the source, not just push it further down the line.

Water Heaters

A water heater that's 10 to 15 years old in a Pflugerville home is living on borrowed time. Whether yours is making noise, running out of hot water faster than it used to, or showing rust around the tank, our team can assess the situation and recommend the right repair or replacement. We work with all major brands and carry the parts to get most jobs done in a single visit.

Tankless Water Heater Installation

Tankless water heaters are a popular upgrade for Pflugerville homeowners who are tired of running out of hot water or dealing with an aging tank that's costing them on energy bills every month. We size the unit correctly for your home's demand, handle the gas or electrical connections, and make sure everything is up to code before we leave.

Leak Detection

Not every leak announces itself with a puddle on the floor. Hidden leaks inside walls, under slabs, and behind cabinets can cause serious structural damage before you ever notice them. Our leak detection process uses advanced tools to pinpoint the source without unnecessary demolition, saving you time and money on the repair.

Slab Leak Detection

Slab leaks are a real concern in Pflugerville, where the expansive clay soils shift seasonally and put stress on the copper supply lines running beneath home foundations. Signs like warm spots on the floor, unexplained spikes in your water bill, or low pressure throughout the house often point to a leak under the slab. We locate it precisely and give you clear options for repair.

Learn More

Whole House Repiping

Many Pflugerville homes built in the 1990s still have their original supply lines, and some of those materials simply weren't designed to last 30 years. If you're dealing with frequent leaks, discolored water, or consistently low pressure throughout your home, a whole house repipe may be the most cost-effective long-term solution. We complete most repipes with minimal disruption and have your water back on the same day.

Learn More

Sewer Line Replacement

Older sewer lines in Pflugerville's established neighborhoods are susceptible to root intrusion, bellying, and joint separation after decades in the ground. If you're experiencing recurring backups, slow drains across multiple fixtures, or foul odors in the yard, your main sewer line may need attention. We use camera inspections to diagnose the problem accurately and offer trenchless options where the layout allows.

Emergency Plumbing

Burst pipes, overflowing toilets, and sudden water heater failures don't wait for business hours. Our emergency plumbing team serves Pflugerville and the surrounding area when you need someone there fast. We arrive prepared to diagnose and fix the problem on the spot so you're not left dealing with water damage any longer than necessary.

Learn More

Water Softeners

Pflugerville sits squarely in Central Texas hard water territory, and the effects show up everywhere: scale buildup on fixtures, shortened appliance life, and soap that never quite lathers right. A properly sized water softener protects your plumbing system and water-using appliances from the long-term damage that hard water causes. We help you choose the right system and install it so it actually performs the way it should.

Learn More

Gas Line Installation

Whether you're adding a gas range, an outdoor grill connection, or converting appliances to gas, our licensed plumbers handle gas line installation safely and to code. Pflugerville's growing number of new builds and remodels means gas line work is in steady demand, and it's not a job to hand off to just anyone. We get the permits, do the work right, and make sure everything passes inspection.

We Know Pflugerville Homes

Most of the homes we work on in Pflugerville were built between 1992 and 2008, which puts a lot of plumbing systems right at the age where original water heaters, supply line fittings, and drain connections start showing their wear. We've seen the patterns: the 18-year-old water heater tucked in a garage that's been quietly corroding, the polybutylene flex lines under a kitchen sink that were never replaced after a recall, the copper lines under a slab that have been slowly developing pinhole leaks from our aggressive local groundwater chemistry. Knowing what to expect in these homes helps us diagnose faster and fix it right the first time.

Pflugerville's clay-heavy soil adds another layer to the conversation, especially when it comes to slab leaks and sewer line issues. Seasonal dry spells pull moisture from the ground and cause the soil to contract, and when the rains come back, it expands again. That constant movement stresses the pipes running beneath your foundation and through your yard. On top of that, the hard water coming through municipal supply here in the Pflugerville area does real damage to water heaters, fixtures, and appliances over time. We factor all of this in when we assess your home, because a plumber who doesn't understand the local conditions isn't giving you the full picture.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to repair a slab leak in Pflugerville?
Slab leak repair costs in Pflugerville typically range from $500 to $4,000 or more depending on the location of the leak, the method used to fix it, and how much concrete or flooring needs to be disturbed. Trenchless or epipe lining methods tend to cost more upfront but can save money by avoiding major demolition. Spot repairs where access is straightforward are on the lower end. Because Pflugerville's clay soils shift seasonally, slab leaks here are more common than in areas with stable ground, so getting a proper diagnosis before assuming the scope of work is important. The best way to get an accurate number is to have the leak located precisely before committing to a repair method.
My Pflugerville home was built in the late 1990s — do I need to worry about my pipes?
Homes from that era in Pflugerville were often built with copper supply lines or, in some cases, polybutylene pipe, which was phased out due to failure rates and was the subject of a class action settlement in the late 1990s. If your home still has polybutylene, it's worth having it evaluated because those pipes can fail without much warning. Copper lines from that era are generally fine but may show pinhole leaks from the mineral content in Central Texas water after 25 or more years. Water heaters installed during original construction are almost certainly past their useful life. A plumbing inspection can give you a clear picture of where your system stands so you can prioritize what actually needs attention now.
How hard is the water in Pflugerville, and does it damage my plumbing?
Pflugerville's water supply comes from the lower Colorado River Authority and typically tests in the moderately hard to very hard range, often between 150 and 300 parts per million of dissolved minerals depending on seasonal variation. Over time, that hardness leaves scale buildup inside water heaters, on fixtures, and inside supply lines, which reduces efficiency and shortens equipment life. Water heaters in hard water areas tend to fail sooner because sediment accumulates at the bottom of the tank, forcing the unit to work harder. A water softener can significantly extend the life of your plumbing system and appliances, and many Pflugerville homeowners find it pays for itself relatively quickly in reduced repair and replacement costs.
What are the signs that my water heater needs to be replaced?
The most obvious signs are age and performance. If your water heater is more than 10 to 12 years old, it's in the window where failure becomes likely, especially in hard water areas like Pflugerville where sediment buildup accelerates wear. Rust-colored water from the hot tap, rumbling or popping sounds during heating cycles, water pooling around the base of the unit, and running out of hot water significantly faster than you used to are all warning signs. A unit that's leaking from the tank itself rather than a connection usually can't be repaired cost-effectively and should be replaced. Addressing it proactively rather than waiting for a full failure saves you from dealing with water damage in your garage or utility room.
Do you offer emergency plumbing service in Pflugerville?
Yes, we offer emergency plumbing service in Pflugerville for situations that can't wait until the next business day. Burst pipes, major leaks, sewer backups, and water heater failures that leave you without hot water are the kinds of calls we handle on an urgent basis. When you call, let us know it's an emergency and we'll get someone to you as quickly as possible. Response times vary depending on current demand and time of day, but we prioritize active water emergencies because the longer water is running where it shouldn't be, the more damage accumulates.
What's involved in a whole house repipe, and how long does it take?
A whole house repipe involves replacing all of the water supply lines throughout your home, from the main shut-off to every fixture and appliance. The process typically takes one to three days depending on the size of the home and the complexity of the layout. We use modern PEX or copper piping depending on your preference and the specifics of the job. Most repipes require small access holes in drywall to route new lines, and we patch as we go. Your water will be shut off during the work but restored by the end of each day in most cases. A repipe is often the right call for homes where pinhole leaks keep recurring, water pressure has dropped throughout the house, or original polybutylene lines are still in place.
