About Our Drain Services in Leander

Leander has grown faster than almost any city in the country, and that means thousands of homes that are only a few years old — but that doesn't mean drain problems are off the table. New construction homes in Leander can come with issues like improperly graded drain lines, debris left inside pipes during the build, or early-stage buildup that catches first-time homeowners off guard. At Cold is on the Right, our licensed plumbers know what to look for in newer homes and newer neighborhoods, so we get to the root of the problem without unnecessary upsells or surprises.

We also understand that many Leander families are juggling busy schedules and tight budgets. That's why we offer upfront pricing before any work begins, show up when we say we will, and explain everything in plain language so you can make an informed decision. From a slow bathroom drain to a full sewer line inspection, we bring the tools and the experience to handle it — and we're proud to be the plumber that Leander families call again and again.

Drain Services We Provide in Leander

Drain Cleaning

Over time, even newer pipes in Leander's subdivisions can develop stubborn clogs from grease, soap buildup, and everyday debris. Our licensed plumbers use professional-grade equipment including hydro jetting and drain snakes to clear blockages completely rather than just punching through them. Regular drain cleaning is one of the best ways to protect your home's plumbing system before a minor clog turns into a major repair.

Kitchen Drain Cleaning

Kitchen drains take a beating in busy family households, and grease, food scraps, and soap residue build up faster than most homeowners realize. In Leander's newer homes, kitchen plumbing is often well-designed but not immune to the daily wear of a young, active family. We clear the clog, clean the line, and help you understand what habits or products may be contributing to the buildup.

Bathroom Drain Cleaning

Hair, soap scum, and toothpaste residue are the usual culprits in bathroom drains, and with multiple people sharing bathrooms in most Leander homes, clogs happen fast. Our plumbers clear bathroom sink, tub, and shower drains quickly and thoroughly so your morning routine doesn't come to a standstill. We also check for any underlying pipe concerns while we're in there.

Toilet Clog Removal

A clogged toilet in a busy household is more than an inconvenience — it's urgent. Whether the blockage is near the surface or deeper in the drain line, our plumbers have the tools to clear it without damaging your fixtures. If the problem keeps coming back, we'll dig deeper to find out why and give you honest options.

Sewer Services

Sewer problems are some of the most disruptive plumbing issues a homeowner can face, and they're not always easy to spot until things get serious. We offer comprehensive sewer inspections and repairs for Leander homes, using camera technology to see exactly what's happening inside your lines before recommending any work. Catching sewer issues early saves you from the much larger cost of emergency repairs or yard excavation.

Sewer Line Replacement

When a sewer line is too far gone to repair, a full replacement is the right call — and it's a job that demands experience and precision. Our licensed plumbers assess your specific situation and walk you through your options, including trenchless methods that minimize disruption to your yard and landscaping. Leander homeowners trust us to handle sewer line replacement with honesty, efficiency, and minimal hassle.

Learn More

Hydro Jetting

Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to blast through years of grease, scale, and debris that a standard snake just can't touch. It's especially effective for kitchen lines and main drain lines in homes that have gone several years without professional cleaning. The result is a thoroughly clean pipe that flows like new and resists future buildup much longer than other clearing methods.

Drain Camera Inspection

Sometimes the only way to know what's really going on inside your pipes is to look. Our drain camera inspections give us a real-time view of your drain and sewer lines so we can identify cracks, root intrusion, buildup, or improper installation without any guesswork. For Leander homeowners buying a new home or dealing with repeat clogs, a camera inspection is a smart first step.

Root Intrusion Clearing

Even in newer Leander neighborhoods, tree and shrub roots can find their way into drain lines faster than you'd expect — especially as landscaping matures. Root intrusion causes slow drains, gurgling sounds, and eventually full backups if left unchecked. We locate the intrusion, clear the roots, and advise you on whether a repair or preventive treatment is needed to keep it from coming back.

Emergency Plumbing

Drain backups and sewer overflows don't care what time it is, and when it happens in your home, you need help now. Cold is on the Right offers emergency plumbing services in Leander for urgent drain situations that can't wait until Monday morning. We respond quickly, assess the problem honestly, and get your home back to normal as fast as possible.

Plumbing Repairs

Drain issues sometimes point to a broader plumbing problem — a cracked pipe, a failing joint, or a fixture that needs replacement. Our licensed plumbers handle the full range of plumbing repairs so you're not stuck calling three different companies. If your drain problem turns out to be part of something bigger, we'll tell you clearly what's going on and what it will take to fix it right.

We Know Leander Homes

Leander's housing stock is overwhelmingly new construction — master-planned subdivisions, tract homes, and recently built custom builds that have been going up at a rapid pace over the last decade. First-time homeowners are common here, and many people are encountering their first real plumbing problem in a home they assumed was too new to have issues. What we see regularly in these newer builds are drain lines that weren't perfectly graded during construction, builder-grade fixtures that wear faster than expected, and early grease or debris buildup in kitchen lines that nobody thought to address in the first few years.

We've been serving Leander long enough to know which subdivisions have had recurring sewer line issues, where the soil conditions create extra stress on underground pipe joints, and what the signs are when a minor drain problem is actually pointing to something bigger. That kind of local knowledge matters when you're deciding who to trust in your home. Cold is on the Right comes ready to work, with upfront pricing and no pressure — because in a fast-growing city full of young families and first-time homeowners, you deserve a plumber who treats your home like it's their own.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my drain problem is a simple clog or something more serious like a sewer line issue?
A single slow drain is usually a localized clog that a professional cleaning can resolve quickly. The warning signs that point to a sewer line issue are when multiple drains in different parts of your home are slow or backing up at the same time, when you hear gurgling from the toilet after running water elsewhere, or when sewage odors are coming from more than one drain. In Leander's newer homes, sewer line issues are sometimes tied to construction defects or early root intrusion from maturing landscaping. A camera inspection is the most reliable way to know for certain what's happening inside your pipes.
My home in Leander was just built a few years ago. Can new construction homes really have drain problems?
Yes, and it's more common than most new homeowners expect. New construction homes can have drain lines that weren't perfectly pitched during installation, leftover construction debris inside pipes, or builder-grade materials that wear faster than premium options. Grease and soap buildup can start accumulating in kitchen and bathroom lines within the first couple of years of regular use. Getting a professional drain inspection or cleaning in the first few years of owning a new home is a smart investment that can prevent bigger problems down the line.
How much does drain cleaning typically cost in Leander?
A standard drain cleaning for a single fixture like a kitchen sink or bathroom drain typically runs between $150 and $300 depending on the severity of the clog and the method required to clear it. Hydro jetting, which is more thorough and effective for heavy buildup or main line cleaning, generally falls in the $300 to $600 range. Camera inspections are often in the $150 to $300 range and are worth it when you're dealing with recurring clogs or buying a new home. We provide upfront pricing before any work begins so there are no surprises on the final bill.
What should I do if multiple drains in my house are backing up at the same time?
Multiple drains backing up simultaneously is almost always a sign of a main sewer line blockage rather than individual fixture clogs. When this happens, stop using water in your home as much as possible to avoid overflow, and avoid running the dishwasher, washing machine, or multiple sinks at once. This situation qualifies as an urgent plumbing issue because continued water use can cause sewage to back up into your tubs or toilets. Give us a call right away — we have emergency availability for exactly this kind of situation, and catching it early can save you from significant water damage.
How often should I have my drains professionally cleaned?
For most households in Leander, having your drains professionally cleaned every one to two years is a good general guideline. Homes with heavy kitchen use, multiple bathrooms, or mature trees near the sewer line may benefit from annual cleaning. If you've had recurring clogs in the same drain, that's a signal that routine cleaning is overdue or that something structural needs to be addressed. Regular professional cleaning is significantly less expensive than emergency service calls and helps extend the overall life of your plumbing system.
Are there drain cleaning products I can use between professional visits, or will they damage my pipes?
Store-bought liquid drain cleaners like Drano or Liquid-Plumr can dissolve minor organic clogs, but they have real drawbacks. Used repeatedly, they can corrode older pipe materials and are tough on pipe joints and seals. They also don't address the underlying buildup on pipe walls, so clogs tend to come back quickly. For routine maintenance, enzyme-based drain treatments are a gentler and more effective option. A small strainer in your tub and shower drains to catch hair and debris will do more to prevent clogs than any chemical product. When in doubt, a professional cleaning is the safer and more thorough solution.
