About Our HVAC Maintenance in Georgetown

Georgetown's rapid growth means a lot of HVAC systems that were installed just a few years ago in newly constructed homes, alongside older equipment in established neighborhoods that has been running hard through multiple Texas summers. Cold is on the Right provides HVAC maintenance in Georgetown that accounts for both realities. We service all major brands and system types, helping homeowners catch small issues before they become expensive repairs and keeping equipment running as efficiently as possible through the heat of Central Texas summers and the unpredictable stretches of cold that roll through in winter.

Our maintenance visits go beyond a quick filter swap. We inspect electrical connections, refrigerant levels, drainage lines, airflow, safety controls, and overall system performance. For homeowners in newer master-planned developments, we also keep an eye on installation quality issues that sometimes surface in the first few years of a system's life. For those in older Georgetown neighborhoods, we pay close attention to equipment age and wear patterns that signal a system is approaching the end of its reliable service window. Either way, you get an honest assessment and clear pricing with no pressure.

HVAC Maintenance Services We Provide in Georgetown

Annual HVAC Tune-Up

A full annual tune-up covers every major component of your heating and cooling system — from coils and refrigerant to electrical connections and safety controls. In Georgetown's climate, where systems run hard from spring through fall, a yearly tune-up is the most reliable way to extend equipment life and avoid mid-summer breakdowns.

AC System Maintenance

Your air conditioner takes a serious beating during Georgetown summers, often running for months with very little relief. We inspect and clean your condenser coils, check refrigerant levels, test capacitors and contactors, and make sure your system is ready for the long cooling season ahead. Catching a weak capacitor or low refrigerant in spring is far less disruptive than an AC failure in July.

Heating System Maintenance

Georgetown winters are mild but unpredictable — a stretch of freezing weather can arrive quickly and put real stress on a heating system that hasn't run in months. We service furnaces, heat pumps, and dual-fuel systems, inspecting burners, heat exchangers, ignition components, and airflow to make sure your heat comes on reliably when temperatures drop.

Learn More

Filter Replacement and Airflow Inspection

Clogged or undersized filters are one of the most common causes of reduced efficiency and premature equipment wear. Georgetown's ongoing construction activity means elevated dust and debris in the air, which can clog filters faster than homeowners expect. We inspect and replace filters, check for airflow restrictions, and make sure your system is breathing properly.

Coil Cleaning

Dirty evaporator and condenser coils force your system to work harder to move heat, driving up energy costs and shortening equipment life. In homes near Georgetown's open spaces and new development zones, outdoor coils tend to collect debris quickly. We clean both coil sets thoroughly as part of a complete maintenance visit.

Condensate Drain Line Cleaning

A clogged condensate drain line can cause water damage, mold growth, and system shutdowns — and Georgetown's humid summers make drain line clogs more common than many homeowners realize. We flush and clear the drain line during maintenance visits and check the drain pan for any signs of buildup or overflow.

Heat Pump Maintenance

Heat pumps are increasingly common in Georgetown's newer communities because of their efficiency in mild climates. They do double duty as both heating and cooling systems, which means they need attentive maintenance year-round. We inspect refrigerant levels, reversing valves, defrost cycles, and auxiliary heat elements to keep your heat pump performing at peak efficiency.

Mini-Split System Maintenance

Ductless mini-splits are popular in Georgetown's historic homes and additions where adding ductwork isn't practical. Without regular maintenance, the filters and coils in mini-split systems can get clogged quickly, reducing output and efficiency. We clean filters, inspect refrigerant lines, and verify performance across all zones during a maintenance visit.

Learn More

Ductwork Inspection

Leaky or poorly sealed ductwork is a significant source of energy waste, and it's especially common in older Georgetown homes where duct systems have been modified or are simply showing their age. We inspect accessible ductwork for leaks, disconnected sections, and insulation issues that are quietly costing you money every month.

Thermostat Calibration and Testing

An uncalibrated thermostat can cause your system to cycle too frequently, run longer than necessary, or fail to maintain consistent temperatures throughout the house. We test and calibrate your thermostat, check compatibility with your equipment, and can advise on smart thermostat upgrades that make sense for Georgetown's seasonal swings.

Pre-Season System Checkup

Spring and fall are the best times to schedule an HVAC checkup in Georgetown — before your system faces the long cooling season or the first cold snap of winter. A pre-season visit lets us identify anything that needs attention while you still have time to address it without the urgency of extreme weather pressing down on you.

We Know Georgetown Homes

Georgetown's housing stock is genuinely diverse in a way that matters for HVAC maintenance. In the older neighborhoods close to the historic square, we often work on homes with original or heavily modified duct systems, aging equipment, and building envelopes that weren't designed with today's air conditioning demands in mind. These homes need careful attention — a system that's been running in a drafty older house for 15 years has very different wear patterns than one installed in a tight new construction build five miles away.

In the master-planned communities that have defined Georgetown's recent growth — places like Wolf Ranch, Teravista, and Sun City — we see a different set of considerations. New construction doesn't always mean trouble-free, and some of the most common issues we find in these neighborhoods are installation shortcuts, undersized equipment, and systems that haven't been touched since the builder's crew left. Georgetown's hard water and the limestone-heavy terrain also affect condensate lines and equipment longevity in ways that aren't obvious until a problem surfaces. Knowing all of that going in is what lets Cold is on the Right give Georgetown homeowners a maintenance visit that's actually useful.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I schedule HVAC maintenance in Georgetown?
Most HVAC systems benefit from two maintenance visits per year — one in spring before the long cooling season begins, and one in fall before the heating system is needed. Georgetown's summers are particularly demanding on air conditioning equipment, so the spring checkup is especially important. If your system is older or has had prior issues, more frequent service may be worthwhile. Consistent annual maintenance is one of the best ways to avoid emergency repairs during extreme weather.
What does a typical HVAC maintenance visit include?
A standard maintenance visit covers inspection and cleaning of the evaporator and condenser coils, checking refrigerant charge, testing electrical components like capacitors and contactors, inspecting and replacing air filters, clearing the condensate drain line, verifying thermostat calibration, and checking airflow throughout the system. We also assess the overall condition of the equipment and let you know if anything is showing signs of wear that could lead to a future problem. You get a full picture of your system's health, not just a quick once-over.
My Georgetown home is newer construction — do I still need HVAC maintenance?
Yes, and newer homes in Georgetown's master-planned communities actually have some specific considerations worth knowing about. Builder-grade HVAC installations sometimes include equipment that is correctly sized on paper but installed with shortcuts — duct connections that aren't fully sealed, drain lines that weren't sloped correctly, or refrigerant charges that were never precisely set. These issues don't always show up immediately but tend to surface within the first few years. A professional maintenance visit can catch those installation quirks before they turn into bigger problems and help you get the full performance out of the system you paid for.
How much does HVAC maintenance cost in Georgetown?
HVAC maintenance costs in Georgetown typically range from around $80 to $150 for a single-system tune-up, depending on the scope of work and the type of equipment being serviced. Homes with heat pumps, dual-fuel systems, or multiple zones may see slightly higher costs due to the additional components involved. We provide upfront pricing before any work begins so there are no surprises. Some homeowners also find that a maintenance plan covering multiple visits per year offers better value than scheduling one-off visits.
Can HVAC maintenance actually lower my energy bills?
It can, and the impact is often more significant than homeowners expect. Dirty coils, low refrigerant, clogged filters, and worn electrical components all force your system to work harder to move the same amount of air, which directly increases energy consumption. In Georgetown's climate, where air conditioning runs for a large portion of the year, even a modest efficiency improvement translates into real savings over a cooling season. Studies from the Department of Energy have suggested that a poorly maintained HVAC system can lose 5 to 25 percent of its original efficiency. Getting that back through maintenance is almost always less expensive than the ongoing higher utility bills.
My HVAC system is more than 10 years old — should I maintain it or start thinking about replacement?
A 10 to 15 year old system in Georgetown is right at the point where that question deserves a serious look. Most residential HVAC equipment has a useful life of 15 to 20 years with good maintenance, so a 10-year-old system that has been well-maintained likely has years of service left. A system that has not been regularly serviced may be closer to the end of its reliable window. We recommend continuing maintenance on older equipment but also having an honest conversation about what your system's current condition suggests about its remaining life. If the cost of repairs is approaching 50 percent of replacement cost, or the system is failing repeatedly, replacement is usually the smarter investment. We will give you a straight answer on that rather than pushing you in either direction.
