About Our Drain Cleaning in Georgetown

Georgetown's historic district is a beautiful place to live, but those older homes often come with plumbing that's just as historic. Cast iron and galvanized steel pipes from decades past are prone to corrosion, buildup, and root intrusion from the mature trees that line so many of Georgetown's older streets. Clearing a drain in a 1920s home near the square requires a different approach than jetting a line in a two-year-old subdivision off Williams Drive, and that's exactly the kind of knowledge we bring to every job.

On the other end of Georgetown's growth, the wave of new master-planned communities has brought miles of new drain lines, but new doesn't always mean trouble-free. Builder-grade materials, fast-tracked installations, and the heavy clay soils common throughout Williamson County can all create drainage problems sooner than homeowners expect. Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air serves Georgetown homeowners across every era of construction, with upfront pricing and no surprise fees when the job is done.

Drain Cleaning Services We Provide in Georgetown

Kitchen Drain Cleaning

Kitchen drains are some of the most frequently clogged lines in any Georgetown home, whether you're cooking in a restored Victorian near the square or a brand-new house in Wolf Ranch. Grease, food particles, and soap buildup accumulate over time and restrict flow until the sink barely drains. We clear the full line — not just the trap — so the problem doesn't come back in a week.

Bathroom Drain Cleaning

Hair, soap scum, and toothpaste residue build up inside bathroom drains and create stubborn slow-drain situations that get worse the longer they're ignored. In Georgetown's older homes, narrower cast iron pipes make these blockages more severe and harder to clear with store-bought products. We use professional-grade tools to clean bathroom drains completely, from tubs and showers to sink lines.

Learn More

Hydro Jetting

Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to blast through grease, scale, mineral deposits, and even tree root intrusions in your drain lines — making it one of the most thorough cleaning methods available. Georgetown's hard water accelerates mineral scale buildup inside pipes, and hydro jetting cuts through that buildup in a way that snaking alone simply can't. It's particularly effective for older sewer laterals and kitchen lines that have years of grease coating the pipe walls.

Learn More

Main Sewer Line Cleaning

A clogged or sluggish main sewer line affects every drain in your home simultaneously, and it's one of the most disruptive plumbing problems a Georgetown homeowner can face. Mature tree roots common in Georgetown's established neighborhoods are a leading cause of main line blockages, boring into joints and accumulating debris until flow is severely restricted. We clean main sewer lines using professional-grade equipment and can camera inspect afterward to confirm the line is clear.

Learn More

Drain Camera Inspection

When drains keep clogging or you're buying one of Georgetown's older homes, a camera inspection gives you a clear picture of exactly what's happening inside your pipes. We run a high-resolution camera through the line to identify root intrusions, cracks, belly sections, or grease buildup that can't be diagnosed from the surface. It's the most reliable way to confirm a problem before recommending a repair, and it saves Georgetown homeowners from guesswork and unnecessary costs.

Learn More

Garbage Disposal Drain Cleaning

A garbage disposal that drains slowly or backs up is often a sign that the drain line beyond the disposal has accumulated grease and food debris over time. In Georgetown kitchens, especially in homes a decade or older, these lines can develop thick buildup that a disposal alone can't push through. We clean the disposal drain line and inspect the connection to make sure everything is flowing the way it should.

Learn More

Floor Drain Cleaning

Floor drains in garages, laundry rooms, and utility spaces collect a lot of debris over time and are easy to forget until they back up. In Georgetown's newer developments with finished utility spaces and large garages, a backed-up floor drain can cause water damage quickly. We clear floor drains and check the trap to make sure the line is open and functioning properly.

Learn More

Sewer Line Replacement

When drain cleaning isn't enough because pipes are too corroded, collapsed, or root-damaged to function, sewer line replacement is the right long-term solution. This is a reality for some of Georgetown's historic-district homeowners whose original clay or cast iron sewer laterals have reached the end of their usable life. Cold is on the Right handles full sewer line replacement with minimal disruption to your yard and landscaping.

Learn More

Emergency Drain Cleaning

Sewage backing up into a tub or a drain completely blocked with a houseful of people doesn't wait for a convenient appointment. Cold is on the Right offers emergency drain cleaning throughout Georgetown so you're not left dealing with a backed-up drain for hours or overnight. We respond quickly, diagnose the blockage, and clear it so your household can get back to normal.

Learn More

Laundry Drain Cleaning

Washing machine drain lines collect lint, detergent residue, and fabric fibers over time, eventually slowing drainage to the point where water overflows the standpipe during a wash cycle. Georgetown homes with older laundry hookups or original builder-grade drain lines are particularly susceptible to this kind of buildup. We clean laundry drain lines and verify the standpipe height and venting are correct so the problem doesn't keep recurring.

Learn More

Root Intrusion Removal

Georgetown's older and mid-century neighborhoods are full of mature live oaks, pecans, and cedar elms whose roots are constantly seeking moisture — including inside your sewer and drain lines. Root intrusions start as small hair-like tendrils and grow into solid blockages that can crack pipes from the inside if left untreated. We remove root intrusions using cutting tools and hydro jetting and can recommend long-term solutions to keep roots out of your lines.

Benefits of Drain Cleaning in Georgetown

Drain repairs and sewer line work can be a bigger expense than expected, especially in Georgetown's older homes where a cleaning sometimes reveals an underlying pipe issue that needs attention. Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air offers financing options to help Georgetown homeowners get the work done right without having to delay. Ask us about available plans when you call to schedule your service.

We Know Georgetown Homes

Georgetown spans a wider range of housing ages than almost any city in the Austin metro. The homes clustered around the historic Williamson County courthouse were built on clay soil with original clay tile or cast iron sewer lines that were never designed to last a hundred years. Those systems corrode, shift, and invite root intrusions in ways that newer systems simply don't, and knowing how to work on them without causing more damage takes real experience.

At the same time, the massive master-planned communities that have transformed northern and western Georgetown have their own set of plumbing realities. Builder-grade PVC drain lines installed quickly during construction booms can have improper slopes, inadequate venting, or early joint failures — and Georgetown's expansive clay soils shift enough seasonally to stress those lines faster than you'd expect. We work across all of Georgetown's neighborhoods and housing stock, so whatever your home looks like, we know what to look for.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does drain cleaning cost in Georgetown, TX?
The cost of drain cleaning in Georgetown depends on the type of drain, the severity of the blockage, and the method required to clear it. A straightforward sink or tub drain cleaning typically runs in the range of $150 to $300, while main sewer line cleaning or hydro jetting can range from $300 to $600 or more depending on the length of the line and the nature of the blockage. Georgetown's older homes sometimes require more labor if pipes are heavily scaled or root-invaded, which can affect the final cost. We always provide upfront pricing before any work begins so you know exactly what you're agreeing to.
Why do my drains keep clogging even after I've had them cleaned?
Recurring clogs after a recent cleaning usually point to an underlying issue beyond simple buildup, such as root intrusions, a collapsed or bellied section of pipe, or an improper slope in the drain line. In Georgetown's older neighborhoods, root intrusion from mature trees is one of the most common culprits, and a basic drain snake may clear the immediate blockage without addressing the roots themselves. A camera inspection is usually the right next step to see exactly what's happening inside the pipe. Once we identify the root cause, we can recommend a permanent fix rather than just a temporary clearing.
Can Georgetown's hard water cause drain and plumbing problems?
Yes, hard water is a real issue throughout Williamson County, including Georgetown, because the water drawn from the Edwards Aquifer and local sources carries high mineral content. Over time, calcium and magnesium deposits build up on the interior walls of pipes, gradually narrowing the flow and making it easier for other debris to accumulate and form blockages. This is especially common in hot water lines and kitchen drain connections near the dishwasher. Hydro jetting is one of the most effective ways to remove mineral scale from inside pipes, and a whole-home water softener can help slow future buildup significantly.
How do I know if I have a main sewer line clog versus a single drain clog?
The clearest sign of a main sewer line clog is when multiple drains in your home are slow or backing up at the same time, particularly if flushing a toilet causes water to back up in a tub or sink. A single clogged drain, on the other hand, affects only that fixture and doesn't impact the rest of the house. In Georgetown homes, especially those with mature landscaping, a main line blockage from tree roots is a fairly common scenario. If you're seeing issues in more than one area of the house simultaneously, that's a strong indicator we need to look at the main line rather than just an individual drain.
Is hydro jetting safe for older pipes in Georgetown's historic homes?
Hydro jetting is generally safe for most pipe materials, but it requires an inspection first to evaluate the condition of the pipes before applying high-pressure water. In Georgetown's older homes with cast iron or clay tile sewer lines, we always camera inspect the pipe before recommending hydro jetting to confirm the line can handle the pressure. If a pipe is already severely deteriorated or cracked, we would recommend repair or replacement first rather than risk worsening the damage. When pipes are in acceptable condition, hydro jetting is actually one of the best ways to thoroughly clean older lines that have decades of buildup.
How long does drain cleaning service take in Georgetown?
Most standard drain cleaning jobs in Georgetown take between one and two hours from the time we arrive, depending on the type of drain and the nature of the blockage. A simple kitchen or bathroom drain clearing is usually on the shorter end, while main sewer line cleaning or hydro jetting may take longer depending on the length and condition of the line. If a camera inspection is part of the service, that typically adds another 30 to 45 minutes. We'll give you a realistic time estimate when we assess the situation so you're not left wondering how long we'll need to be at your home.
