About Our Sewer Services in Dripping Springs

Sewer problems in Dripping Springs rarely look like sewer problems in a city subdivision. Out here, you may be dealing with longer sewer lines crossing rocky Hill Country terrain, tree roots from mature hardwoods working into joints, or the transition between a private septic system and a municipal lateral that was installed years ago with minimal documentation. Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air uses camera inspection technology to see exactly what's happening inside your pipes before we ever recommend a repair. That means no guesswork, no unnecessary digging, and no surprises on your bill.

We've worked on custom homes on multi-acre lots, older ranch-style properties with cast iron drain lines, and newer builds where the soil settling has shifted things unexpectedly. Whatever your property looks like, we come ready with the right tools and a straight answer. Dripping Springs homeowners value reliability, and that's exactly what we deliver — upfront pricing, licensed plumbers, and work built to hold up in this environment.

Sewer Services We Provide in Dripping Springs

Sewer Line Repair

Cracked, offset, or root-invaded sewer lines are common on Dripping Springs properties where mature trees line long pipe runs across rocky ground. We use camera inspections to pinpoint the exact problem area and perform targeted repairs that restore proper flow without tearing up more of your yard than necessary. Getting it right the first time saves you time and money on a property where excavation isn't simple.

Sewer Line Replacement

When a sewer line is too far gone for repair — whether from age, repeated root intrusion, or material failure — full replacement is the smarter long-term investment. We replace sewer lines with durable modern materials engineered to handle Hill Country soil conditions and temperature swings. For Dripping Springs homeowners with long runs between the house and the street or septic connection, we make the process as efficient and minimally disruptive as possible.

Learn More

Drain Cleaning

Slow drains are often the first sign that something is building up in your sewer line, and in Dripping Springs the hard mineral-rich water accelerates that buildup. We use professional-grade equipment to clear blockages thoroughly rather than just pushing them further down the line. Routine drain cleaning is one of the best ways to avoid a full sewer backup on a property where a plumber isn't just five minutes away.

Learn More

Sewer Camera Inspection

Before any repair or replacement recommendation, we run a camera through your sewer line to see exactly what's going on inside. This matters especially in Dripping Springs where pipe runs are longer, access points are less standardized, and the cause of a problem isn't always obvious from the surface. A camera inspection gives you documented evidence of the issue and the confidence that the solution we propose is the right one.

Learn More

Hydro Jetting

Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to scour the interior walls of your sewer pipes, clearing grease, mineral scale, and compacted debris that a standard drain snake can't touch. For Dripping Springs homes with hard well water or older pipes with years of buildup, this is often the most effective way to restore full flow without resorting to replacement. It's a thorough clean that gives your sewer line a fresh start.

Learn More

Root Intrusion Removal

The large oaks and cedars that make Dripping Springs properties beautiful also send roots toward any source of moisture they can find, including your sewer line. Root intrusion can cause partial blockages, cracked joints, and eventually complete pipe failure if left untreated. We remove roots mechanically and assess whether the affected section of pipe needs reinforcement or replacement to prevent the problem from coming back.

Learn More

Sewage Backup Service

A sewage backup is one of the most unpleasant and potentially hazardous plumbing emergencies a homeowner can face. In Dripping Springs where properties are spread out and help isn't always nearby, getting a fast and capable response matters. We locate the source of the backup, clear the obstruction, and assess what caused it so you're not dealing with the same problem again in a few weeks.

Learn More

Emergency Sewer Service

Sewer emergencies don't wait for business hours, and neither do we. If you're dealing with sewage backing up into the house, a broken line flooding your yard, or a sudden complete loss of drainage, call us right away. We serve Dripping Springs and the surrounding Hill Country communities and understand the urgency of getting out to rural and semi-rural properties quickly when things go wrong.

Learn More

Leak Detection

Sewer leaks underground can be difficult to detect until they've already caused significant damage or created a health hazard. Our leak detection equipment allows us to identify the location of a leak without unnecessary excavation, which is especially valuable on Dripping Springs properties with long underground runs across rocky terrain. Early detection means smaller repairs and far less disruption to your landscaping and yard.

Learn More

Septic-to-Sewer Connections

As Dripping Springs continues to grow and some areas transition from septic to municipal sewer service, homeowners may need to connect their existing plumbing to the new public line. This involves tying into the municipal lateral, properly abandoning the old septic system, and ensuring all connections meet code requirements. We handle these transitions cleanly and make sure your system is set up correctly from day one.

Plumbing Repairs Related to Sewer Issues

Sometimes a sewer problem shows up first as a plumbing issue inside the house — a toilet that won't flush right, a sink that drains slowly no matter what you do, or a persistent smell with no obvious source. We tie together the full picture, tracing symptoms back to root causes whether they're inside the walls or deep in the ground. Fixing the right problem the first time is always better than chasing symptoms.

We Know Dripping Springs Homes

Dripping Springs is a community of custom builds, older ranch properties, and acreage lots that each come with their own plumbing history. The homes here weren't built from the same blueprint — some have cast iron drain lines installed decades ago, others have PVC installed by different crews with varying standards, and newer custom homes sometimes reveal surprises once the ground settles in rocky Hill Country soil. We've seen enough of these properties to know what to look for before it becomes a problem.

The well water common throughout this area is hard and mineral-heavy, which accelerates scale buildup inside pipes and at joints over time. Combine that with the native cedar and oak trees that send roots aggressively toward any moisture source, and you've got conditions that require a plumber who's actually familiar with the territory rather than one applying a one-size-fits-all approach. When you call Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air, you're getting a team that has worked on Dripping Springs properties and understands what it takes to do the job right out here.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I have a sewer line problem or just a clogged drain?
A single slow drain is usually a localized clog, but if multiple fixtures are draining slowly at the same time or you're hearing gurgling sounds in one drain when you use another, that's a sign the problem is further down in the main sewer line. Sewage odors inside the house or soft wet spots in the yard are also strong indicators of a sewer issue rather than a simple clog. In Dripping Springs, root intrusion from native trees is a common cause of sewer line problems that can look like a regular clog at first. A sewer camera inspection is the most reliable way to tell the difference and know exactly what you're dealing with.
How do I know if I have a sewer line problem or just a clogged drain?
Yes, and it's one of the most common sewer problems we see on Dripping Springs properties. Live oaks, cedar elms, and other native trees send roots long distances in search of water, and a sewer line is an ideal target. Roots enter through small cracks or loose joints and then grow and expand inside the pipe, eventually causing blockages or structural damage to the pipe itself. Catching root intrusion early through periodic camera inspections can allow for mechanical removal before the roots cause a crack that requires full replacement of that pipe section.
How much does sewer line repair or replacement typically cost in Dripping Springs?
Costs vary depending on the length of the line, the depth it's buried, the soil conditions, and the extent of the damage. A targeted repair on a short accessible section might run a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars, while a full sewer line replacement on a large acreage property with a long run can reach several thousand dollars or more. Dripping Springs properties often have longer pipe runs than typical city lots, which can affect the overall scope. We provide upfront pricing after a camera inspection so you know exactly what the job involves before any work begins.
Do I need a sewer camera inspection before you can give me a repair estimate?
For most sewer line issues, yes — a camera inspection is the most accurate and cost-effective way to diagnose the problem before committing to a repair approach. Without seeing inside the pipe, there's too much guesswork involved, which can lead to either under-repairing the problem or doing more excavation than necessary. On Dripping Springs properties where pipe runs can be long and access points aren't always where you'd expect them, a camera inspection saves time and money overall. We explain what the camera shows you in plain terms and walk you through your options based on what we actually find.
What's the difference between sewer line repair and sewer line replacement, and how do I know which one I need?
Repair makes sense when the damage is isolated to a specific section of pipe — a single crack, an offset joint, or a localized root intrusion point. Replacement is typically the better call when the pipe material itself is deteriorating throughout, when there have been repeated failures in the same line, or when the overall pipe is old enough that repairing one section will just lead to problems in adjacent sections shortly after. We give you an honest recommendation based on what the camera inspection shows, not on what generates the largest job. If a repair will genuinely hold up long-term, we'll tell you.
Are you able to work on properties that have both a septic system and a connection to the municipal sewer line?
Yes, and this is actually a situation we encounter on Dripping Springs properties more than most areas, as the community has grown and some neighborhoods have transitioned from fully private septic systems to municipal service. Properties may have a septic tank that's been decommissioned while the home now connects to a public lateral, or there may be older septic infrastructure still in place that needs to be properly addressed. We understand how these hybrid systems work and can evaluate your specific setup to make sure everything is connected, sealed, and functioning correctly under current code.
