About Our Gas Line Installation in Bee Cave

Bee Cave has grown quickly over the past two decades, and many of the homes here were built with modern gas systems designed to support a range of premium appliances, from professional-grade ranges to tankless water heaters and outdoor living setups. But newer doesn't always mean problem-free. As these homes age and homeowners add features, gas line capacity, routing, and connections need to be carefully planned and installed to code. Cold is on the Right handles every step of that process with full licensing, upfront pricing, and a commitment to safety that matches the standards Bee Cave homeowners hold for every contractor they let through the door.

We work on both new gas line installations and upgrades to existing systems throughout Bee Cave and the surrounding Lake Travis area. Whether you're adding a gas fireplace, extending a line for a backyard kitchen, or replacing aging infrastructure in an early-2000s build, our licensed plumbers assess your full system before recommending any work. We pull the proper permits, follow current code requirements, and verify pressure and performance before we leave your property.

Gas Line Replacement

Homes built in Bee Cave during the early 2000s construction boom are now old enough that original gas lines may show wear or have outdated fittings. We replace deteriorating or undersized lines to restore safe, reliable performance. Our team assesses the full system before recommending any scope of work so you're never paying for more than you need.

Gas Leak Detection and Repair

A suspected gas leak in any home is an immediate safety concern, and in Bee Cave's tightly built neighborhoods, the risk of impact to adjacent systems is real. We use proven detection methods to locate leaks accurately and resolve them quickly. If you smell gas or hear a hissing sound near a line or appliance, don't wait.

Outdoor Kitchen and Gas Appliance Connections

Outdoor living spaces are a defining feature of Bee Cave homes, and connecting a gas grill, burner station, or outdoor range requires more than running a quick line. We size the supply correctly, route lines safely beneath hardscaping or through exterior walls, and verify flow at the appliance before wrapping up. Done right, your outdoor kitchen performs the way it was designed to.

Whole-Home Generator Gas Supply Lines

Standby generators have become increasingly popular in Bee Cave, especially for homeowners who've experienced summer outages or want reliable backup for smart home systems and HVAC equipment. We install dedicated gas supply lines sized to meet generator load requirements and coordinate with your generator installer to ensure everything works together properly.

Gas Fireplace and Fire Feature Installation

Gas fireplaces and outdoor fire features are common in Bee Cave's higher-end homes, and getting the supply line right matters for both performance and safety. We install new gas lines for interior fireplaces, exterior fire pits, and linear fire features with the proper pressure regulation and shutoff configurations. Every installation is inspected and tested before use.

Tankless Water Heater Gas Line Upgrades

Tankless water heaters demand higher BTU capacity than traditional tank units, and many Bee Cave homes upgrading to on-demand hot water need a dedicated or upsized gas line to support the load. We assess your current supply line and upgrade it where needed so your tankless unit performs at full capacity without pressure drop or ignition issues.

Gas Pressure Testing and System Inspections

Before buying or renovating a home in Bee Cave, a gas system inspection can surface issues that aren't visible and aren't covered by a standard home inspection. We perform pressure testing and full system evaluations to confirm your lines are holding correctly, your appliances are receiving proper flow, and there are no hidden compliance issues to deal with later.

Preventative Gas Line Maintenance

Routine maintenance on your gas system helps catch small issues, like corroded fittings, shifting connections, or slow pressure loss, before they become expensive or dangerous problems. For Bee Cave homeowners who take a proactive approach to home maintenance, a periodic gas system checkup is worth scheduling alongside your annual HVAC and plumbing inspections.

Commercial Gas Line Installation

Bee Cave's growing commercial corridor along TX-71 includes restaurants, medical offices, and mixed-use developments that rely on properly installed and maintained gas systems. Cold is on the Right handles commercial gas line installation with the same licensing, code compliance, and precision we bring to residential work. We understand the stakes are higher when a business depends on it.

We Know Bee Cave Homes

Most of Bee Cave's residential development happened in the late 1990s through the 2010s, which means the housing stock skews toward modern construction with gas systems that were designed for higher-end living from the start. These homes often include multiple gas appliances, complex outdoor living features, and larger square footage that puts real demand on supply lines. What looks like a simple appliance connection in a smaller home can be a capacity and routing challenge when you're working with a 4,000-square-foot property with an outdoor kitchen, two water heaters, and a standby generator all pulling from the same line.

The Hill Country terrain common throughout Bee Cave also means gas lines are often routed through rocky soil, under large hardscaped patios, or through finished spaces where access isn't straightforward. Our technicians have worked extensively in this area and know how to plan installations and repairs that account for those real-world conditions, not just what looks clean on a diagram. When Bee Cave homeowners call Cold is on the Right, they're getting a team that already understands the neighborhood.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does gas line installation cost in Bee Cave, TX?
Gas line installation costs in Bee Cave typically range from $300 to $800 for a straightforward appliance connection, while more complex projects like running a new line for an outdoor kitchen, generator, or whole-home gas system can run $1,000 to $3,500 or more depending on length, routing, and permit requirements. Bee Cave homes often have features like large hardscaped patios, multiple gas appliances, and finished utility spaces that can affect both access and labor time. The best way to get an accurate number is to have a licensed technician assess your specific setup. Cold is on the Right provides upfront pricing before any work begins so you know exactly what you're agreeing to.
Do I need a permit for gas line installation in Bee Cave?
Yes, most gas line installations in Bee Cave require a permit through the City of Bee Cave or Travis County, depending on the location of the property. Permits exist to ensure the work is inspected and meets current safety codes, which protects you, your family, and the value of your home. Any licensed plumber or gas contractor operating in this area should be pulling the appropriate permits as a standard part of the job. Cold is on the Right handles permitting as part of every qualifying installation so you don't have to navigate that process yourself.
How long does it take to install a new gas line in a Bee Cave home?
A single appliance connection in an accessible location can typically be completed in two to four hours. More involved projects, like running a new line for an outdoor kitchen across a large property, adding a dedicated generator supply line, or rerouting through finished spaces, may take a full day or extend across two visits depending on permit scheduling and inspection timelines. Hill Country terrain and rocky soil in parts of Bee Cave can also affect trenching time for buried lines. Your technician will give you a realistic timeline when they assess the job.
Can I add a gas line for an outdoor kitchen or fire feature in Bee Cave?
Absolutely, and it's one of the more common requests we get from Bee Cave homeowners. The key considerations are whether your existing gas supply line has adequate capacity to support the added load, how the new line will be routed under or around existing hardscaping, and whether the connection points meet current code for outdoor use. We assess all of that before quoting the work. Outdoor gas installations require the right fittings, proper shutoffs, and in many cases a dedicated line rather than tapping into an already loaded supply, so having a professional evaluate the system first is worth the call.
What should I do if I smell gas in my Bee Cave home?
Leave the home immediately without turning any lights or switches on or off, and avoid using your phone until you're outside and away from the building. Once you're clear, call your gas utility provider to shut off service at the meter and then contact a licensed plumber for emergency service. Do not re-enter the home until the source has been identified and cleared by a professional. Gas leaks in newer homes can sometimes be traced to fitting connections that have shifted or corroded over time, especially at appliance hookups or in utility spaces that aren't regularly inspected.
My Bee Cave home was built around 2005. Should I have the gas lines inspected?
Homes from that era are now in the 18-to-20-year range, which is a reasonable point to have a gas system inspection if you've never had one done. Fittings and flex connectors can degrade over time, and homes that have had appliances replaced or added since original construction may have connection points that weren't originally permitted or that don't meet current code. An inspection includes pressure testing the lines and visually checking accessible connections and fittings. It's a relatively low-cost step that gives you a clear picture of whether your system is in good shape or needs attention before a problem develops.
