About Our Gas Line Installation in Lakeway

Lakeway is a community where homes have real history. Many of the properties along the lake were built decades ago, and the gas infrastructure in those homes reflects that age. Corroded fittings, outdated pipe materials, and lines that were never designed to support today's appliance loads are common findings in older Lakeway homes. Our team approaches every installation with that context in mind, assessing what is already in place before we ever pick up a wrench.

Whether you are adding a gas range, connecting an outdoor grill and fire pit for lakeside entertaining, or replacing a line that has simply reached the end of its service life, we bring licensed expertise and local familiarity to every job. We know the terrain here, we understand the soil and humidity conditions near the lake, and we work to code so your installation passes inspection and keeps your household safe for the long term.

Gas Line Services We Provide in Lakeway

New Gas Line Installation

We install gas lines for new appliances, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and whole-home system builds. Lakeway properties often include expansive outdoor living spaces where gas connections are increasingly in demand, and we route and install lines safely across a range of property layouts.

Gas Line Replacement

Older Lakeway homes — especially those built in the 1970s and 1980s — may still have gas lines made from materials no longer considered safe or reliable by current standards. We replace aging or corroded lines with modern materials, restoring safety and performance throughout your system.

Gas Line Repair

Leaks, pressure drops, and damaged connections are problems that require immediate, professional attention. We diagnose and repair gas line issues throughout Lakeway homes, addressing root causes rather than applying temporary fixes that leave risk on the table.

Gas Leak Detection

If you smell something that reminds you of rotten eggs — or if a gas detector has triggered an alert — do not wait. Our technicians use proven detection methods to locate leaks accurately and resolve them safely before the situation escalates.

Appliance Gas Line Connection

Connecting a new gas range, dryer, water heater, or fireplace insert requires more than a hose and a fitting. We handle proper, code-compliant connections for all gas appliances, ensuring correct pressure, secure fittings, and a system that performs safely from day one.

Outdoor Gas Line Installation

Lakeway homeowners take their outdoor living spaces seriously, and gas lines for grills, fire features, and outdoor kitchens require careful routing and professional installation. We run lines from your main system to exterior locations with full attention to code requirements and long-term durability.

Gas Line Pressure Testing

After any installation or repair, we pressure-test the system to confirm there are no leaks and that pressure levels meet manufacturer and code specifications. This step is non-negotiable — it is how we verify the work before we call the job complete.

Gas System Inspections

If you are buying a home in Lakeway, renovating an older property, or have not had your gas system evaluated in years, an inspection gives you a clear picture of what you are working with. We assess pipe condition, connections, and overall system integrity and give you honest findings.

Preventive Gas Line Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps catch small issues — minor corrosion, slightly loose fittings, early signs of pressure irregularities — before they grow into emergencies. For older Lakeway homes especially, routine checks provide meaningful peace of mind and support long-term system safety.

Commercial Gas Line Services

Lakeway has grown significantly, and its commercial properties have gas needs that match that growth. We handle commercial gas line installation, repair, and maintenance for local businesses, applying the same standards and attention to detail we bring to every residential project.

We Know Lakeway Homes

Lakeway is not a uniform community — it is a mix of ranch-style homes from the 1970s sitting alongside newer builds in gated developments, all sharing the same lakeside setting. In the older homes, we regularly find gas infrastructure that has simply aged out: corroded fittings, undersized lines that were never intended to carry today's appliance loads, and connections that were installed before current code requirements existed. The humidity off Lake Travis accelerates that deterioration, especially on any exposed metal components near the exterior of a home.

Newer builds in Lakeway bring a different set of considerations. Outdoor entertaining is a priority in this community, and that means gas lines running longer distances to pergolas, outdoor kitchens, and fire features — installations that require careful planning to maintain proper pressure throughout the run. We have worked across Lakeway long enough to know what to look for in both generations of homes here, and that familiarity means fewer surprises and better outcomes for the homeowners we serve.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does gas line installation cost in Lakeway, TX?
The cost of gas line installation in Lakeway varies depending on the scope of the project. A simple appliance connection might run a few hundred dollars, while a longer run to an outdoor kitchen or a full gas line replacement in an older home can range from $1,000 to $3,000 or more depending on pipe length, materials, access challenges, and permit requirements. Older Lakeway homes sometimes require additional work if the existing lines are undersized or deteriorated. We always provide a clear, upfront estimate before any work begins so you know exactly what to expect.
How do I know if my older Lakeway home needs gas line replacement versus repair?
In homes built in the 1970s and 1980s — which make up a good portion of Lakeway's housing stock — we often find gas lines made from materials that have simply reached the end of their service life. Signs that replacement may be more appropriate than repair include widespread corrosion, repeated minor leaks in different locations, visible aging on accessible pipe sections, and systems that consistently fail pressure tests. A thorough inspection gives you a clear picture of what is in your walls and under your yard, and we will give you an honest recommendation rather than pushing you toward unnecessary work.
Can you run a gas line to my outdoor kitchen or fire pit in Lakeway?
Yes, and it is one of the more common projects we handle in Lakeway. Outdoor entertaining is a big part of life here, and gas lines for grills, fire features, and built-in outdoor kitchens require careful routing from your main gas supply. The key considerations are line length, pipe sizing to maintain proper pressure at the end of the run, and burial depth requirements for underground sections. We plan every outdoor gas line project carefully to ensure the system delivers consistent performance no matter how far from the house your feature is located.
What should I do if I smell gas in my Lakeway home?
If you smell gas — described most often as a sulfur or rotten egg odor — leave the house immediately and avoid using light switches, phones, or anything that could create a spark while you are inside. Once you are outside and at a safe distance, call your gas utility to shut off service and then call us. Do not re-enter the home until the source has been identified and resolved by a licensed professional. Gas leaks in older Lakeway homes are sometimes caused by aging fittings or corrosion that develops gradually, so a smell that comes and goes is still worth taking seriously.
Do you pull permits for gas line installation in Lakeway?
Yes. Gas line installation in Lakeway requires a permit from the City of Lakeway, and all work must be inspected and approved before the system is put into service. We handle the permitting process as part of the job, so you do not have to navigate that on your own. Working without a permit is not just a code violation — it can create serious issues when you go to sell your home or file a homeowners insurance claim. We make sure every installation we complete is fully documented and inspected.
How long does a gas line installation take in Lakeway?
Most residential gas line installations in Lakeway are completed in a single day. A straightforward appliance connection may take only a few hours, while a longer run for an outdoor feature or a full system replacement in an older home may take a full day or require a follow-up visit to complete after the permit inspection. We give you a realistic timeline during the estimate process so you can plan accordingly. Permitting and inspection scheduling can add a few days to the overall timeline, but the installation work itself is typically completed quickly once we are on site.
