About Our Heating Repairs in Dripping Springs

Dripping Springs is a different kind of place. Custom-built homes on large lots, cedar and limestone construction, and heating systems that often run harder than you'd expect given Central Texas winters. When a cold front drops out of the Hill Country, temperatures can fall fast — and homes with high ceilings, open floor plans, and older HVAC installations feel it immediately. Our technicians have worked on heating systems across the Dripping Springs area and understand the specific demands these homes put on their equipment.

We serve everything from newer builds off RR 12 and Fitzhugh Road to established properties deeper in the Hill Country where a service call requires real commitment. Whether your furnace is short-cycling, your heat pump isn't keeping up, or your system just stopped producing heat entirely, Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air arrives with the tools, parts, and know-how to get your heat restored without the runaround. Upfront pricing, no hidden fees, and emergency service when you need it most.

Heating Repairs We Provide in Dripping Springs

Furnace Repair

If your furnace is blowing cold air, cycling on and off without heating your home, or making strange noises you've never heard before, it's time for a professional diagnosis. Dripping Springs homes often have older furnace installations that have gone years between service visits — we track down the problem fast and fix it properly. Don't let a faulty furnace leave your family in the cold during a Hill Country freeze.

Heat Pump Repair

Heat pumps are a popular choice in this part of Texas because they handle both heating and cooling efficiently — but when they fail in winter, you feel it immediately. We diagnose heat pump issues including refrigerant problems, reversing valve failures, and defrost cycle malfunctions common in areas with temperature swings like Dripping Springs. Getting your heat pump back online quickly is our priority.

HVAC System Repair

When your heating system stops cooperating and you're not sure whether the problem is the air handler, the thermostat, or something deeper in the system, our HVAC technicians work through a complete diagnostic to find the root cause. Dripping Springs homes with custom HVAC configurations or zoned systems require a technician who can think through a system holistically rather than just replacing parts and hoping for the best. We fix it right.

Furnace Replacement

Some furnaces reach the point where repairs no longer make sense — especially older units in established Dripping Springs properties that have been running hard for 15 or 20 years. When repair costs approach replacement value, we'll give you an honest assessment and help you choose a system that's right for the size and layout of your home. No pressure, just straight talk about what makes sense for your situation.

Learn More

Furnace Installation

Whether you're finishing a new build, replacing an old system, or adding heating to an outbuilding or guest suite on your property, we handle furnace installation from start to finish. Dripping Springs properties often include detached structures, workshops, or casitas that need dedicated heating solutions. We size the system correctly for the space and make sure everything is installed to code the first time.

Learn More

Thermostat Repair and Replacement

A failing thermostat can make a perfectly good heating system look like it's broken — causing short cycles, inconsistent temperatures, or a complete failure to turn on at all. We diagnose thermostat issues quickly and replace outdated or malfunctioning units with reliable options that give you accurate control over your home's temperature. Homes with smart thermostats can also develop communication errors with older HVAC equipment that we know how to sort out.

Igniter and Pilot Light Repair

Gas furnaces rely on igniters or pilot lights to start the combustion process, and these components are among the most common failure points in older systems. If your furnace is running but no heat is coming out, a faulty igniter is often the culprit. We carry common igniter parts for most major furnace brands and can usually complete this repair in a single visit.

Heat Exchanger Inspection and Repair

A cracked heat exchanger is one of the most serious furnace problems a homeowner can face — it can allow carbon monoxide to enter your living space without any visible warning. We inspect heat exchangers thoroughly and give you a clear picture of the condition of your system. For Dripping Springs homes that may go extended periods between professional service visits, this inspection is especially important.

Blower Motor Repair

The blower motor is responsible for pushing warm air through your ductwork and into your living spaces, and when it starts to fail you'll notice weak airflow, unusual humming or squealing sounds, or a furnace that runs but never really warms the house. We repair and replace blower motors to restore proper airflow across your entire home. In large custom homes with expansive square footage, a struggling blower motor makes a big difference fast.

Ductwork Inspection and Sealing

Leaky ductwork in a sprawling Hill Country home can bleed off a significant portion of your heated air before it ever reaches the rooms you're trying to warm. We inspect duct systems for gaps, disconnections, and deterioration — especially in older homes where ductwork has never been evaluated. Proper sealing improves comfort, reduces strain on your heating equipment, and lowers your energy bills.

Carbon Monoxide Detection and Safety Checks

Gas heating systems require regular safety checks to make sure combustion gases are properly vented and carbon monoxide isn't accumulating inside your home. For properties outside city limits without nearby emergency services, having a properly functioning CO detection system and a regularly serviced furnace is especially critical. We check your system's safety components as part of every heating service call and flag anything that needs attention.

We Know Dripping Springs Homes

Dripping Springs is full of custom homes built to take advantage of the land — high ceilings, open living areas, stone and wood construction that looks beautiful but can make heating a real challenge when the system isn't performing at its best. A lot of these homes were built in the early 2000s and the HVAC systems that came with them are now pushing 20 years of age, showing wear in ways that only show up when temperatures drop. We know what aging equipment looks like in this part of the Hill Country and what's worth repairing versus what needs to go.

Out here, the distance between properties means you can't always count on a quick trip to get help — which is exactly why Dripping Springs homeowners need a heating company that actually shows up when they say they will and gets it handled in one trip. We've worked on systems in all corners of this community, from properties near the Pedernales to newer developments off 290, and we carry the knowledge and parts to handle what we find. When your heater quits, Cold is on the Right Plumbing & Air is who you call.

High Fives from Austin Homeowners

Graysen and Andrew from Cold is on the Right came out just a couple hours after I called and took care of cutting out my kitchen faucet. They were professional, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable, explaining everything in a straightforward way without any upselling or confusion. It was refreshing to get honest answers and excellent service so quickly. I’ll definitely be using them again for future plumbing needs.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does heating repair cost in Dripping Springs?
Heating repair costs in the Dripping Springs area typically range from $150 to $600 for most common repairs, though more involved issues like heat exchanger problems or blower motor replacements can run higher. The wide range comes down to what's actually wrong with your system — a bad igniter is a much simpler fix than a failed control board. We give you an upfront price after diagnosing the problem so you know exactly what you're agreeing to before we start. There are no hourly surprises or add-on charges after the fact.
How much does heating repair cost in Dripping Springs?
This is one of the most common furnace complaints we hear, and it usually points to a handful of specific issues: a failed igniter, a tripped limit switch, a gas supply problem, or a dirty flame sensor that won't allow the burners to stay lit. In older furnaces common in established Dripping Springs properties, wear on the igniter or flame sensor is the most frequent culprit after years of use. It's worth getting a technician out to diagnose it rather than guessing — some of these issues involve gas components that aren't safe to troubleshoot without proper training.
How long does a heating repair visit take?
Most heating repairs in a single-family home take between one and three hours from the time the technician arrives. Simpler repairs like thermostat replacements or igniter swaps are often completed in under 90 minutes. More complex issues involving ductwork, heat exchangers, or multi-component failures can take longer, and occasionally a part has to be ordered if it's specific to your system. We'll give you a realistic time estimate once we've diagnosed the problem and tell you upfront if a second visit is likely.
Is it worth repairing my old furnace or should I replace it?
The general rule of thumb is that if the repair cost is more than half the cost of a new system and the furnace is over 15 years old, replacement often makes more financial sense over time. Dripping Springs has a lot of homes with original HVAC systems from the early 2000s, and those units are at an age where major component failures tend to come in waves. We'll give you an honest assessment of your system's condition and the likely repair cost versus replacement cost so you can make an informed decision — not a sales pitch.
Do you offer emergency heating repair in Dripping Springs?
Yes. We know that out here in Dripping Springs, a heating failure in the middle of the night isn't a minor inconvenience — you're further from town, temperatures can drop quickly, and your family needs heat. We offer emergency heating repair service for situations that can't wait until the next business day. Call us at any hour and our team will work to get a technician to your property as quickly as possible.
What should I do while I'm waiting for a heating repair technician to arrive?
If your heating system has stopped working completely, start by checking that your thermostat is set correctly and that your circuit breaker hasn't tripped. For gas systems, make sure the gas supply valve near the unit is in the open position. If you smell gas or your carbon monoxide detector has alarmed, leave the house immediately and call 911 — don't wait for an HVAC technician in that situation. While you wait for service, use space heaters in occupied rooms if you have them, but never leave them unattended or use them in bedrooms without proper ventilation awareness.
