About Our HVAC Maintenance in Cedar Park

Cedar Park's rapid growth has filled the area with a wide mix of housing — newer subdivisions off Lakeline Boulevard, established neighborhoods near 183A, and everything in between. HVAC systems in newer homes may still be under warranty but need proper care to stay that way, while systems in older Cedar Park homes are often overdue for a thorough inspection. Cold is on the Right services all of it, bringing the same attention to detail whether your unit was installed last year or over a decade ago.

Our maintenance visits are designed to do more than just check a box. We inspect every component that affects your system's performance, identify problems before they become costly failures, and give you a clear picture of where your system stands. Cedar Park families depend on reliable cooling in the summer and dependable heat when temperatures drop, and we take that seriously.

HVAC Maintenance Services We Provide in Cedar Park

Annual HVAC Tune-Up

A full seasonal tune-up covers your entire system — cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, testing electrical connections, and confirming airflow. In Cedar Park, where summers push systems hard for months at a time, a tune-up before the heat arrives can prevent the kind of breakdown that leaves your family sweating in July. We service all major brands and system types.

Air Filter and Airflow Inspection

Clogged or improperly sized filters are one of the most common causes of reduced efficiency and poor air quality in Cedar Park homes. We inspect your filter, check static pressure, and make sure airflow is balanced throughout the house. Families in Cedar Park deal with plenty of dust and pollen, making clean filters more important than most homeowners realize.

Thermostat Calibration and Testing

A thermostat that reads temperatures inaccurately can cause your system to run longer than needed, driving up energy bills without improving comfort. We test and calibrate your thermostat during every maintenance visit to confirm it's communicating correctly with your HVAC equipment. Smart thermostat compatibility checks are included for homes with newer installations.

Refrigerant Level Check

Low refrigerant is a sign of a leak, not just something to top off. During maintenance, we check refrigerant levels and inspect for any signs of leakage that could be reducing your system's cooling capacity. This matters in Cedar Park where air conditioners run nearly nonstop through the summer and any loss in efficiency adds up quickly on your energy bill.

Condenser and Evaporator Coil Cleaning

Dirty coils force your system to work harder, reduce efficiency, and shorten equipment life. We clean both the indoor evaporator coil and the outdoor condenser coil as part of our maintenance service. Cedar Park's outdoor conditions — including dust, pollen, and heavy grass growth near newer developments — can foul condenser coils faster than many homeowners expect.

Electrical Component Inspection

Loose connections, worn capacitors, and failing contactors are responsible for a significant number of HVAC breakdowns. We inspect all electrical components and test system controls during maintenance visits to catch issues before they cause a failure. Catching a $40 capacitor before it takes out your compressor is exactly the kind of thing routine maintenance is designed to do.

AC Repair

If maintenance reveals a problem with your air conditioning system, our technicians can address it on the spot or schedule a dedicated repair visit. Catching issues during maintenance is almost always less expensive than waiting for a full breakdown. Cedar Park summers are not the time to find out your AC has a problem.

We Know Cedar Park Homes

Cedar Park is one of the fastest-growing areas in the Austin metro, which means we see everything from brand-new construction in master-planned communities to homes built in the early 2000s that are now hitting that 15-20 year mark where original HVAC equipment starts showing its age. Newer builds often come with systems that are properly sized but need consistent maintenance to hold up through years of heavy Texas cooling loads, while older Cedar Park homes frequently have units that have been pushed past their prime without the attention they needed along the way.

What makes Cedar Park distinct is the sheer density of family homes with high daily demand on HVAC systems, kids, pets, and busy households running systems hard from April through October. We've worked in enough Cedar Park neighborhoods to know what failure patterns show up in equipment of different ages, what the area's dust and pollen levels do to filters and coils, and how homes built during different development waves here tend to perform. That familiarity means we spend less time guessing and more time actually solving the problem.

We contacted Cold is on the Right today with an urgent plumbing need. Their very professional and organized crew arrived within 30 minutes and fixed our issue. We called five other plumbing companies before them and no one was able to help us. Cold is on the Right will now be the first plumbers we call.

We called due to slow drainage and apparently main line backing up into master bathroom shower and sink. There is an automated line that takes your information and apparently works very well. Plumbers Billy and Jeremy showed up promptly after we were informed they were being dispatched this morning, they stayed and worked until the problem was solved and advised on possible future repairs that would need to be done. They were professional, smart, respectful of our home, and efficient in their actions. Let us know what things would cost and were honest in their assessment of what would be needed next and how (un) likely our homeowners insurance would be able to help.  I appreciate the service and the fair treatment by these gentlemen. Thank you.

Santiago and Kyle were amazing during our total HVAC system replacement. Kind, informative, knowledgeable and careful to ensure a smooth install. They were efficient and got my AC working before my family arrived for spring break. Now enjoying the cool air with family. Great pricing and quick turn around from quote to finished job. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone needing HVCA or plumbing work.

These guys are prompt and very polite, and explain your options well without trying to upsell. We thought we needed three things replaced, but they showed us that one of the three just needed an adjustment rather than a replacement. Wonderful service!

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my HVAC system maintained in Cedar Park?
Most HVAC systems in Cedar Park should be serviced at least once a year, though twice a year is ideal — once in the spring before cooling season and once in the fall before heating season. Given how hard systems run here from April through October, a pre-summer tune-up is the most important one to prioritize. Skipping annual maintenance is one of the most common reasons Cedar Park homeowners end up with a breakdown in the middle of a heat wave. If your system is older or you've had issues in the past, more frequent check-ins can help catch problems early.
What does a typical HVAC maintenance visit include?
A thorough maintenance visit covers inspection and cleaning of your coils, checking refrigerant levels, testing electrical components and connections, inspecting the blower and motor, checking airflow and filter condition, and testing the thermostat. We also look at safety controls and run the system through a full cycle to confirm it's operating correctly. You'll receive a clear summary of what was found and any recommendations before we leave. The whole visit typically takes 60 to 90 minutes depending on your system type and condition.
How much does HVAC maintenance cost in Cedar Park?
A standard HVAC maintenance tune-up typically runs between $80 and $150 for a single system, though pricing can vary based on system type, age, and what's needed during the visit. If repairs or part replacements are identified during the maintenance visit, those are quoted separately and approved by you before any work is done. We provide upfront pricing with no hidden fees, so you'll always know what you're paying before we start. Some homeowners find that a maintenance plan, which covers scheduled visits at a reduced rate, offers the best value over time.
My Cedar Park home is only a few years old — does my HVAC system still need maintenance?
Yes, and this is actually a common misconception. Newer systems still accumulate dust and debris on coils, filters need regular attention, and electrical components can loosen or degrade even in newer equipment. Many manufacturer warranties also require documented regular maintenance to remain valid, so skipping service on a new system could cost you coverage down the road. In newer Cedar Park developments, construction dust and landscaping activity can also foul outdoor condenser units faster than you'd expect. Starting good maintenance habits early extends the life of the equipment and protects your warranty.
What happens if a problem is found during my maintenance visit?
If we find something during your maintenance visit, we stop and explain it to you before doing anything. You'll hear what the issue is, why it matters, what your options are, and exactly what it will cost to address it. You decide whether to move forward. We never start repair work without your approval, and we don't pressure homeowners into services they're not ready for. In some cases, a small issue caught during maintenance can be resolved the same day, which is far less disruptive and expensive than waiting for it to become a full failure.
